This thread should be renamed to "Pardon the stick in my butt"...

It was on the list of possible thread titles, but I stuck to the short one.

Change the title in that one.

For the lolz.:)

Nah.

I'll save the stick-up-my-butt thing for when ME3 comes out and I find something I don't like about it.

Personally the body proportions don't really bother me, I just can't wrap my head around why any intelligent being would want to go into combat wearing spandex and heels.

Well, you know, you have too look pretty in case those geth happen to be checking you out.

I never thought of it that way.  They share memories, so if one of them sees you looking less hot than you could, they all see you.

I'm still too new to know the greats from the decents, but this one's caught my attention.

I agree with Cheez. ME2 didn't faze me quite as heavily as it seems to have done with her, but I still agree. The ass shots were just plain embarrassing. Dear God the ass shots.

However, I have faith in Bioware.
Sure they gave us Miranda (and her baffling choice of combat clothing) and discount human lesbians in ME2, but I can't see them retconning a character they've already written.
I trust Ash will remain unchanged, and Jack's changes will be acceptable.

Do whatever the hell you want with your space bimbos, but don't defile existing characters.

Makes you wonder if the developers will pick up on that.

I'm still trying to work out why this topic seems to be so controversial.

"I want characters to dress appropriately to their character."

"OMG. like NO!"

Seriously, I just don't get it. Are some people radically offended by realistically-proportioned characters and character-sensible clothing? Or combat-ready armor for combat? Is it that offensive?

A skin-tight blue outfit? I wonder where Bioware got the idea for Ashley's ME3 suit?

Oh wait....

Thing to note here: though Samus may look like your average Japanese inspired Blond Bimbo, this is what she actually wears into combat...

Thing is in ME3 we'll still probably have characters running around in high heels during gunfights, if the same design approach is being used from ME2.

:?

Isn't there a game that does just that? You know combat in high heels?  Oh yeah Bayonetta. Heard that's a real classy game. Surely makes gaming look more respectable and not just stuff for lonely dudes. Which is what'd you want. Cause the the wider your game's demographic the more copies you'll likely sell! Right?

No?

Ah screw it make every dude super buff and slap 10 inch think plate armor on him. Also give him a really big gun, it's not compensation! And then have every chick in a metal bikini. Don't give them any big guns though, that'd be too hard for them to carry. Give them a small knife or a tazer, girls know how to use those right? Doesn't matter as only the men will do the actual fighting/killing. All female characters will essentially be medics who's kisses heal 10 HP.

Heavy risk game design, but the priize.

I like to think of Bayonetta as a parody of itself. Like it's actually poking fun at the sheer insanity of oversexualisation in games. It makes it easier for me to reconcile the fact I enjoy the gameplay. Unfortunately, I doubt it was designed, marketed or is played that way by most people.

I always viewed it that way too. That game is meant to be over the top and not meant to be taken too seriously(a boss even tries to crash a friggin satellite on Bayo).
