Oh man, you dodged that one!

You sidestepped the point completely and I knew someone would.

All I read was a bunch of talk about teenage boys being able to choose, and it sounded rather boring.

I am not really concerned of Miranda's dress or Jack's lack of it. BioWare have offered player many different personalities that catered to all. I love the new Liara simply because of her new-found assertiveness during LotSB, and Tali's display of leadership quality during the trial, on Freedom's Progress and Haestrom make me fall in love with her. Both characters suffered typical stereotype weak clueless female needs saving during ME1, but with ME2 both have developed into an actual person, and someone who can lead and command the situation around her. Personally I am a sucker for girls like that. But besides that, BioWare still offered Miranda as sacrificial lamb towards the hormone driven teenage boys, so everyone is happy.

"But besides that, BioWare still offered Miranda as sacrificial lamb towards the hormone driven teenage boys, so everyone is happy."

This is pretty funny lol. Because teenage boys are the only males who like good looking female bodies, right?

Teenage boys can't even buy this damn game.

I found Miranda's body a turnoff, and I don't know what country you are from, but teenages can buy this game in my country.

I wrote my post in somewhat rage, so I apologize, because I do know the differences when it comes to buying games.

Point is, she was created for males, period. Not any certain type of age group.

@Almostfaceman: Yeah, I'm pretty much taking all the little things and dragging them out to the worst-case scenario. It's less of a "I think this is going to happen and I hate Bioware" and more of a "there is a very low probability of this happening, but I hope it doesn't anyway."

BTW, it was less Tali's personality shift that annoyed me and more the fact that she kind of slipped into damsel-in-distress mode. Granted, everyone needed Shepard's help for something or another in ME2, but Tali seemed to get the worst out of it. Other than that, I thought she greatly matured as a character. Just, damn girl! Fend for yourself!

Why do you consider it pandering to the lowest common denominator?  If people couldn't sexualize anyone else, then I don't really see how we would survive as a species if no one ever wanted to f**k someone else.

Because there's more to me and you than our respective genitals.  When all characters, male or female, are portrayed as little more than sex objects, it ignores everything else about what it means to be human.

Or, you know, alien.

Not that all characters are going to be portrayed as sex objects any time soon.  At least, I hope so.

Why can't it be there as a part of the whole person?  Yeah, that person is sexy as is obvious from their appearance, but the story of Miranda is exposed in dialogue as you get to know her.  There is a sense of genuine selflessness she displays to her sister and the fact that she can't have children as leaked via the Shadowbroker files gives her a certain vulnerability.

I don't see why you can't have both.  It certainly happens in real life.  The first thing you will notice about her is that she is beautiful, but there is also a person there as well provided that you take the time to invest in getting to know her character.  It really does seem like the best of both worlds with the option to either take it to a level skin deep or look deeper behind the mask.

Honestly, I think the game does this well.  The way you romance Miranda can be slightly different based upon conversation choices.  In one scenario you can romance her as a person and appeal to how she feels about you.  Then, there is a another set of conversation choices where you act like a complete ass and she calls you out on that where you make it clear you just want to get in her pants.  The resulting love scene may be the same, but the journey was different in my opinion.

When Miranda first talks about her sister, it is the first time she ever shows her humanity, that she does have emotions. And what do we get?

Don't forget the camera zooming in on Femshep's chest during Kasumi's loyalty mission.

Though that may have actually been unintentional.

You darn right it's impossible. Just as it's impossible to ask people to do something when they have the right to do whatever they wanna do and talk about what ever they want to talk about. But, you have the power to avoid the situation if it frustrates you. So, why get into it when you KNOW the outcome and how it makes you feel? Until someone answers that, asking people to stop whining when they have a right to that is illogical and it serves no purpose. Just my opinion on that. When I give my thoughts on something, I seek no approval or seek for people to change their minds and since being here in the short time that I have, all I see is people trying to change other people's minds because they don't agree with what that person says and its absolutely pathetic.

The reason I ask is: Don't you and other people get tired of the complaining that is done after a while? It simply seems logical that after some point, people are simply going to ire of hearing the same old arguments, and giving out the same old defenses-- which I've already seen done time and time again in the short time I've been active, just like you. (I made my profile way back when and promptly forgot about it.) Yes, people have every right to continue these sorts of discussions... but it is my right to step in and say "Hey, guys, this stuff has been gone over in countless forums... maybe enough is enough."

And with what I bolded, I absolutely agree with you. It is pathetic, and the only time it'll change is when people consciously allow themselves not to do what you described. When that's going to happen, I don't know, if it will ever happen in the first place... which it likely won't. But that's why I trudge along: to at least try to make progress in that direction.

You know what I like most about a character like this one http://onepiece.wiki...ki/Nami/History nope not the looks but the good personality and great backstory.:wizard:

The Nami's arc on her home isalnd is one of my favorite stories ever, not limiting it to anime at all.  Lets just say I get a lot of dust in my eyes when watching or reading that.

It's one of the things the anime got right from the manga and it gets me everytime too.:crying:

If you get the uncut version of the anime it does a pretty good job overall I think, I love the fights in the Alabasta arc great stuff there.(just got season 3 5th voyage yesterday, mostly filler i think haven't popped it in yet)  And yet the filler arcs are much smaller and less painful than some other anime's I watch.  But 3 years working in a comic book store really openned my eyes to manga.  Going in I only read american comics, leaving I ended up with a fairly expensive maga habit.

I don't get the hate for Jacob.  Like, at all.  He's a normal guy who's focused on doing his best to beat the "bad guys".  I've always been friends with him in every playthrough.

Generalization of what male wants I guess, but not what I want. I am interested in her baggage of being born as a genetically enhanced person, and the pressure that demanded her to live up to. I admire her skill and talent as an operative for Cerberus, Extremely driven, calculated, and smart. But I do not find her physically attractive, in fact I almost ignored her because of the way she looks.

Actually, BioWare intentionally made him not-quite-as-crazy as the rest of Shep's squad. He was designed to be the most stable character (Legion notwithstanding). So I agree with you. I don't get the hate. He always becomes my main Shep's best friend/right-hand man.

No that is an artists rendition of light armor.  Below is one of the lightest of light armor,s and it looks  a heck of a lot more protective than Miranda's outfit.  Some of the higher quality light armors had some really thick and obvious plates.
-snip-

It is what a lot of NPC's *have* equiped.

@ AC: I think the reason people are getting defensive is because your post looks as to suggest that all characters should be Ashley from ME1, and that diversity is only okay so long as there aren't also attractive characters.

You've since made it clear that you're perfectly fine with diverse characters and that you merely didn't want all other characters to become like Miranda- I think mostly all of us agree with that. It just didn't quite sound like that in the OP.

I don't hate him. I just find him very boring.

Though I did wanted to shove him off the airlock after braking up with my FemShep 3 times!
Sorry for wanting for you to have some personality!

He's not as driven as the other male romances. Garrus has that burning vigilante vibe and Thane is this smooth badboy killer with a vulnerable side to him. Pure chick-lit crack, and oh boy, does it work.

Jacob by comparison just dosen't have the same drive, he's the solid niceguy left stranded in the armory while his dream girl is getting fingerbanged by the exciting badboy down in Life Support.Image IPB

I kinda took offence to your post.. As you are basically saying anyone who isn't over the age of 20 likes to look at the female characters and use their hands. I agree that there was too much shown in this game, way too much to be honest as the armor became really unbelievable and inpractical.
But pinning it all down to a certain age group isn't really fair, especially when you group them together, it does just seem a bit harsh and bit unfair.. :/
