Quick question here. I noticed that GI's summary had the following tidbit preceding the video -

If he survived your Mass Effect 2 playthrough, Garrus will be making his third appearance as a playable character in Mass Effect 3.

But did Derek actually confirm this in his interview?

Also, I assume "playable" means squadmate.

@Skorpious: Derek didn't say anything, but it was already confirmed in the GI article. And yeah, safe to assume it means "squadmate."

Because if GI didn't use incorrect word by saying "playable" - word playable means we get to play AS Garrus at some point.....

I know, but the GI article stated "in some form" when discussing the concept of ME3 squadmates; they never outright confirmed that he IS a squadmate. So until Bioware says otherwise, he could very well be a temporary companion.

I do, however, believe Garrus is a ME3 squadmate (why else would they specifically target Garrus in this new video/substantially change his armor for a single mission?) but an offical confirmation would be nice.

ME3 Garrus = win. The new armour looks smart, and he's grown into that stylish face wound. Hopefully Garrus is in the squad for the long haul - kicking Harbingers arse without Garrus in the team won't feel as great.

Don't complain. Some of us are gonna be at college around that time, meaning that we'll have to wait an extra month at least before we can play it.

The fact that they mentioned that concept art for a female turian exists actually bodes well for their existance. Especially seeing as he mentioned that they "should take it seriously"

Considering they said that Garrus is one of the most popular characters out there, and has been a squad member for two games, it would be very strange if he was not a main squad member again, so I doubt anyone has to worry about only using him for a handful of quests.

If we are indeed going to Palaven, then yeah there has to be. Would be strange if it's just Turian guys just standing around.

Very interesting. It's nice to see how Garrus' look has evolved over the course of the 3 ME games. It's was also nice too see Garrus' new look. One of my pet peeves about  ME2 was that Garrus was forced to walk around in damaged armour ( pre alternative appearance pack 1 ) and big off-white bandage strapped to the right side of his face, it's great that he now has proper armour again and that he has lost the bandage ( but kept the scar for continuity purposes ).

I also thought it was interesting the way he briefly touched on the subject of female Turrians and the obvious reasons why we have yet to see any female aliens in teh ME games.

I could have done without alll the talk about Quarians and more specifically Tali. It was also very intersting but I fear what it's going to do to Tali's fan base.
