Did you really have to make another thread for this?

Repost from other thread:

Wait...what? Why would anyone disagree with having a feature like this added. I mean...you could always just turn it off and play without it.

I guess I just don't understand the whole "PSSH, I don't need it or want it, so it's a dumb thing to add and anyone who wants it is also dumb" mentality.

I mean, it's not like adding a combat log would take anything away from the game. You don't want it, so you turn it off, and you're happy. Someone else does want it, so they leave it on, and they're happy. Everyone is happy.

Alternatively, it's not put in, you're still happy. But they're not happy. Why are you denying them their HAPPINESS???!?!11?! =P

I'm not interested in being one of the MMO kiddies who want to turn their character into a walking spreadsheet.

Not every RPG character needs to go through the MMO Min/Max process.

Clever.

This thread is reverse psychology, right?

"Bio... do not add a combat log in a future patch. Make it DLC... charge 25 dollars for the combat log..."

I find the idea of a full combat log rather useless, unless you're theorycrafting. But sure, optional is fine. As long as it does not take resources away from more important things like extra content, bug fixes and quality control.

Because there are more important things Bioware can be working on.

DnD has walking spreadsheets for characters. Dragon Age plans on making a pen&paper RPG based on the game. Min/Max is hardly exclusive to MMOs, nor were MMOs the first.

Only an idjit needs a combat log. That said, I can see why lots of people might want one.

Yes I know about old school D&D, but MMO players outnumber them 10,000:1.  I don't want to single out WoW, but lately it is the biggest culprit creating this mentality.

Unbelievable. Sure, let's petition to keep BioWare from adding any useful features because some people won't use it. Brilliant.

Less than a fullon BG style combat log, I just wish the item and skill descriptions actually described WTF the stuff actually does.

I imagine its more just rampant fanboism,

bioware didn't put it in the game=it's bad=people are requesting something that is bad=they must be stopped

Second Life.

Seriously though, its not like previous Bioware games did not have a combat log...
