As in pssh...math just makes munchkining easier ...as in if you can't do the math spamming over your head for what is efficient and what isn't you are lacking :)

Yes I know about old school D&D, but MMO players outnumber them 10,000:1.  I don't want to single out WoW, but lately it is the biggest culprit creating this mentality.

You really shouldn't generalize MMO players or people who want a combat log so harshly then. The MMO players who actually Min/Max tend to be the ones with at least an intact brain, unlike the lolwutters, and believe me when I tell you that a lot of those Min/Maxers were once avid DnD players.

Heaven forbid the game get a feature MANY WANT, but that if you DON'T want it you just TURN IT OFF, in a SINGLE PLAYER GAME where OTHERS ENJOYMENT has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR EXPERIENCE.

I see the Bioware forums finally turned into what every other gaming forum is... a lot of kids trolling/flaming each other with 1 word statements and no substance. I sincerely hope those people will grow tired of the game soon and move on.

Also the whole "we want"/" we don't want" are ridiculous statements since noone can speak on behalf of anyone than themselves.

So please all go back to whereever you came from.

man 5 inches, I think I should see a doctor, that just isn't normal.

I kind of imagined carebear island as a game, where the carebear stare was the ultimate lvl 5 ability.

We do not want anything at all. Bioware, please stop supporting this game, it's fine. Lay off all your employees, too.

Only an idjit needs a combat log. That said, I can see why lots of people might want one.

You could have just said "ignorance is a bliss".

I could have, except that isn't what I meant (I do, however, take full responsibility for any ambiguity).

1) Getting "better" at a game isn't hard. All one needs to do is try different things to see which work best, which is pretty much how the game is already set up.

2) Some people enjoy fiddling with numbers and who am I to begrudge them that joy? They can play with their combat log parser while I'll be playing the game (and likely reloading more often but hey, to each their own. I *like* reloading).

More information in a clearly structured format is always better.

I would like to see a combat log. I don't want to see it all the time, but I want the option to go back and review things. I'm interested in being able to see "oh, I died because so-and-so was backstabbing the tank, which I was unable to see because I was on the other side of the room"

Playing on XBox makes seeing what's happening in a fight MUCH more difficult than on PC, so I would appriciate a tool that lets me go back and see what went wrong.

The real ironic thing about this thread and people supporting it would be to know the TRUE reason  Bioware didn't implemented combat log. But let's people dream what they want to dream :innocent:

I don't want a combat log.

Go ahead and add it if you want but make it OPTIONAL and turned OFF by default.

(drags in argument from another thread)

We don't want a combat log ingame because any effort the devs put into adding this feature is effort that they could have spend improving other features.

Now you get to try and figure out if I mean it.

A combat log is nothing more than a tool you could choose to look at or not. There isn't a game where the combat log is in your face at all time; it's always a window that you could hide if you want to or not. DA already supports "floating numbers" which can be turned off or not. Sometimes people end up in a situation where they go "Omfg what the bleep happend!?" when they get seemingly instaganked. The combatlog is what provides them with the answer. It's a tool that nobody is forced to use. Are you constantly and miraculously finding a hammer in your hand at all times you can't seem to get rid of while you only occasinally need to drive a nail into a cabinet to fix it?

Get a clue.

I turned off the floating numbers. I don't care about the numbers. I find them distracting. I'm here for the story! Also to have sexy time with my companions whenever possible.

However! I would never be against such a feature as a combat log existing. Some people love that stuff.

We want a combat log.

(See, it's not that hard to post your own differing opinion in one of the existing threads. Just give it a try.)
