So I finally got my first romance underway and Merril moved into my mansion. I'm wondering is there any actual difference other than the odd Examine speech to do with her living there? She's still got her home in the alienage and still lives there when I've gone to look there. I never see her just hanging around in my mansion as if she lives there and I can't go to my mansion to pay her a visit and chat with her...
Is that the actual extent of her "living" in my mansion with me? Or do I need to give it a little more time and then she will actually be living there instead of her other home?

She doesn't fully move in until Act 3. In Act 2, she still spends most of her time in the alienage. You also get somewhat different conversations in Act 3 if she moves in.

Yeah just 1 different conversation in the mansion. Act 3 she is there almost entire time.

You still have to go into her house to talk about the mirror IIRC.

So in act three if I at a random point go to the mansion she should in theory be there and not at the house in the alienage?

In act 3 she will be there when ever you go home. She will -also- be in the alenage, because thats where she keeps the mirror "for your protection".
