EDIT: However, if anyone wants to trade a litho for a Cerberus one that i will have soon. I may, depending on what litho is offered for trade. PM about this as i don't want to throw the thread off topic.

Is there even a thread for this kind of thing....???  If so could you direct me.

There is a trade thread somewhere in here, yes.

It seems as though most of the trade threads are outdated, so I started this one for anyone interested.

That's why they should have an approach simular to the Valve Store. Create a limitmed collectors edition set that are numbered and are signed by the artist, or even come with bonuses. BUT also release a larger amount of un-numbered, un-signed lithos for those of us, like myself, who would just like to have some quality ME merch.

It would allow BioWare to sell more product and then, hopefully, make more money so they can support more lithos in the future. I think it's win-win. Unsigned lithos could help fund more collectors items for those out there who are into that.

Also, it's win-win because although you might get 500 satisfied customers. How many ME fans are out there right now whho are feeling pretty UNsatisfied!

I just want something nice for my wall... :(

That approach would kill the lithos for me and not just becasue Valve's are $100. Part of the 'limitedness' for me is not just the signature and number, but also the size. I think 500 are plenty and the mini lithos are a good compromise for those who miss out. Granted they're significantly smaller, but they are the same quality as the limited runs and I think it would be better to have a mini version of the art than none at all.

I was lucky enough to get in on the original 'ninja release', as I just happened to check the store on the way to work, but had I missed out, no doubt I would be extremely upset as all are who missed out. To be fair though, I think people are unsatisfied by the handling of this litho release, not the amount released.

I haven't missed out on any of the lithos I've gone after yet but I'd support this approach. At the moment you end up with a bunch of disappointed fans. For me the appeal is a nice piece of art from my favourite game to stick on the wall. For those who like the the limited aspect, reduce the amount of numbered and signed lithos to only one or two hundred.

The difficulty comes in that only some lithos are highly sought after. Others like Pragia and Purgatory sit there for months. Bioware would have to create different edition sizes based on popularity.

One problem I can see with that is counterfeits showing up on Ebay. Meaning, someone does a good enough job of replicating the signature on the non-signed ones.. puts up a blurry picture (and they pretty much all are already) on ebay, and bam.. rip off.

I'm not sure how a litho is printed, so I don't know if altering it in some way to show that it's not the same as a signed edition would up production costs, or be possible. I imagine it's possible they're 'pressed' as one big picture onto the paper.

Valve uses this approach as well, and includes a signed certificate of authenticity which also lists the number. So you have the number on several spots, the tube, the litho, and the certificate. I think that's probably enough to discourage any potential fakes. Esp. if some sort of holograph was included on the certificate to keep *that* from being faked. Even still, I can't imagine this being much of an issue, especially if THBS creates some sort of lithograph registry system.

I'm sorry, but the mini's are a good compromise. There's just 2 problems: the mini's are probably TOO small, and there's too much of a delay in releasing them...assuming they're released at all.

As for problem 1: They could have released them as 15x20 and reduced the white border...making the image smaller...but still being fairly large. As it is, the original image of the Citadel is about 21x12.5, while the mini is about 14x8.25...less than half the size. The character mini's are even smaller...I haven't gotten mine yet so I cant comment on the size, but my guess is the image is closer to about 6.5x9. Smaller than what you could have printed on a piece of paper from home.

The solution to the second is...either release them at the same time as the larger release, or as soon as the larger ones run out. "Hey, mad you missed the limited run? Well, good news, we have smaller, unlimited ones as well." And by as soon, I mean right away. If you get an error message saying there are no more left, that exact same message should contain a link to the smaller size.

There are more of the Cerberus lithograph available on the store right now. Not sure if these are cancelled orderes or the release of the ones held back as replacements but there are currently 9 available. Get in!
