I miss the days when people played games for fun and not for some misplaced sense of achievement
In fact, this should be an achievement/trophy in the next game

EDIT:

Forget what I said earlier. Beginning a Vanguard playthough set to DE-REZZED from Tron: Legacy

I paused my music to watch this video and my music started right back up... Kinda funny how i was listening to that exact song. Pretty cool video and a fun challenge.

this would be doable on insanity with a sentinel playthru.

I've complete like 11 playthroughs of ME2...
But I will certainly do this for my first playthrough with canon Shepard on ME3

I've tried this before. I play on xbox, so I unplugged my hard drive and went as fast as I could (no saves whatsoever) but I only got to horizon before dying.

But yeah I'll accept this challenge so long as I can choose the class I want and have autosaves as my only ones.

EDIT: wait, how the eff will I choose my weapons?? Image IPB

The only way to change weapons is to pause? *confused* ......  Well then you'll have to pause, change your weapon but don't use that as an excuse to assess the situation. The goal is to assess threats in realtime and trust yourself to act accordingly.   But do what you have to with the mechanics of the console.

Bah, wish I could do this properly on xbox. But the choice between pausing briefly for weapon swaps or being confined to two weapons and three powers is a lose-lose. I did enjoy the video though.

I'd rather play for fun than make the game as realistic as possible. After all, this is fantasy.

Sure, you'd feel a great sense of achievement, but is really worth all the time and effort? Not to me. Maybe to some though, and I respect that. Awesome video BTW.

And here is where it goes downhill. Why limit the difficulty? Personaly, I think Casual is not a challlenge at all, it's ridiculously easy. Now, Hardcore/Insanity - that would be fun.

No pausing runs contrary to the game design. How could you activate powers? Adept, Sentinel, and Engineer would be screwed.

Hotkeys, no? ^_^

So basically it doesn't work on the xbox :/.

You can assign powers  to two button blue (X) and red (B), plus a power that's always assigned to yellow (Y)  That's three powers you've got  'hotkeys' for.  Changing weapon?  use the D-pad.

Yeah for each mission/assignment you may need to change them to suit your _expected_ environment but do it before you enter a combat scenario

That was a cool video. I doubt I'd ever try this, but have fun to those who do.
You got Tali's name wrong in the video. It's vas Neema at that point in time, not nar Rayya.

If it's your first time playing a no death ruleset then do casual.  It may be easy but the tension after 30 hours could force you to make a mistake if you're not used to it.  But if you're experienced then by all means up the difficulty :P

You're kidding right? This game is pisseasy I don't remember dying at all. Note that didn't play it on insanity because I honestly don't care about playing against a cheatingLOLHEADSHOTEVERYTIME Ai with piles and piles of HP. If that's what people call difficulty these days then they can shove it.

Besides ME is hardly a game that would prove any challenge for no death run. It's just not that type of game.

Then do it, once you're done report back in and join the elite.  BUT, remember this.  If you've already beaten ME2 then yes doing normal difficulty on a no death run would be EASY because you know what to expect already. I did not have the luxury of knowing what's coming. I overcame scenarios BLIND which drove me to the brink of insanity not knowing if i was going to die, not knowing what to expect AT ALL.

I specifically played the game and experienced and overcame situations thE FIRST time i experienced them. That is the point of a no death ruleset.  I failed three times.  But the finally victory made it all worth it in the most epic way possible.

In your case since you already beat the game (i assume) you should do it on veteran difficulty. My next no death playthrough for ME2 will be on veteran since I've played all the content already.

Once you succeed PLEASE tell me about it because I want to share the glory. Better yet LIVESTREAM it so we can watch you in action! :) *smile* we'll root for you and support you!

Report back? I did it in the 1st playthrough it was just simply not that hard. I lost some of the crew in the end but that's just because I was playing a middle ground character which was a mistake because then you don't get enough renegade/paragon points for some conversation options which is ****ing retarded. Why can't I play a character in grey zone? Why must I be Goody Dogood or Evil McDevil in order to resolve something?

Mass Effect 2 in 15 minutes - No Death Ruleset, Edited in Cinematic Fashion (720HD)

Blur the lines between cutscene and gameplay.

Nah man, you need to play with no UI for that.

This is a pretty cool vid, and I could tell you really enjoyed the experience. I might try it sometime if I have gobs of free time.

Loved the Uvenk v Grunt fight :D

Not going to lie though, after 15 minutes, that music was really getting to me.
