Crank up the straight guilt factor to 11! These forum needs a roll eyes emoticon.

Not the reimagined series. Your lack of Sci-Fi cred disturbs me.

I apologize. Not a fan of the series

But don't knowing a thing about Battlestar Galactica lacks Sci-FI cred?:?

It seems to me less that the pro gay side has become somewhat unreasonable. It seems they don't really want a gay or bi LI in ME3. They want specific gay or bi LI's in ME3(Ashley/Kaidan, Garrus, Tali to be specific) and they want them to become gay/bi out of the blue.

We're only bringing up that point because people keep saying it's a huge change to a character if an existing one is open to s/s romance.  I doubt any of the pro s/s people will turn down brand new LI's but we are on a forum and we are debating why we think it's not a huge change to someone's character.

but it is...
it'd be about as weird if ashley was suddenly black in ME3 lol

Ah, no. Skin color is appearance. I only know your sexual orientation if you vocalize it. Or are you suggesting that all gays and bisexual men are flamboyant who enjoy interior decorating and lesbians, if not blue aliens, are butch and man-like?

Yes in fact you should be torn apart by wild dogs for this indescretion. Set phasers for fail Chewie.

@vormaerin Not really that different because I was trying to say either way, it was going to have aliens.

*shrugs*  Okay, but then what you said wasn't actually in response to the comment you objected to.   Cerberus shouldn't have had a crew of mostly aliens if you are looking for lore consistency.     Do you seriously think there's no other soldiers as skilled as Garrus or technicians comparable to Tali in the entire universe?    With the kind of money and resources that TIM has to spend on recruiting?

Maybe you could argue about Samara, because biotics on her level are pretty much non existant amongst humans  (though there's Jack).  But the rest?   The aliens should have been left on the ground :P

Really?  Then I wonder why my aunt didn't wet herself when I walked into her house a while back?  She doesn't know I'm gay but apparently it's such a huge change that it can't be ignored and it's very apparent.

Sigh... I'm not trying to elicit guilt. That's not my intent at all. I just want everyone to be able to enjoy the game and not feel excluded.

The DA2 LIs were all bisexual.  No one changed for Hawke.

I still don't see why having romantic choices/variety is such a bad thing if it is optional.

The Asari (well, those who trained it) are better biotics than humans, at least according to the official lore.
It stands to reason that humanity is generally the jack-of-all-trades and that this mission required specialists.
And some of the companions were propably recruited to keep Shepard smiling. (yes, that smile)

Edit:

All Bi? Handy, if someone insisted on living out some sort of harem fantasy.

aah I see so this is a "other people got what they want so we want things our way" issue right? Making characters bi or gay when they've never been that way just to appease people is one of the worst things bioware could do.

You've missed my point.

I'm debating that it's silly for people to claim that writing will be inconsistent and immersion breaking if some existing characters can be open to s/s romance in ME3, when T&G were suddenly open to romance with Shep in ME2.

If that is one of the worst things BioWare can do, then it's already been done with T&G.

Too much fan-service dilutes the game.
If you give into the mob you're ruled by the mob..

It is immersion breaking I mean what are the odds that everybody in your crew that's romanceable swings both waysImage IPB because a few VOCAL people demand more gay options.  In DAO I was turned a bit off by Leliana and when I found out she prefers women and she only liked males just to ba another romance option

Tali's romanceI was  handle poorly  I was a total ass  to Tali every chance I got in ME1 and ME2 and she still wants to get in my pants and continue to serve under meImage IPB

Can't enjoy the game without it? Honestly? If that's the case maybe it isn't the game for them.

Well, you need one for the final mission.   But Jack can do it as well as Samara.   And Miranda can fake it at a cost.

*sighs* It was Lis. And you couldn't romance anyone at the same time. Getting with one person would either cancel out the older one/any new ones. And Merill and Anders made it difficult to romance anyone after them. (You could exploit their romances but you can do the same thing in ME2)

There was no harem fanatasy.

Helps that the LIs didn't do that childish "It's me or him!!!" thing.  Except Anders...who is well...Anders.

Ok.

I still maintain that having all LIs be bisexual is just a way of BW saying that they couldn't be arsed to spend more time and money on this aspect of the game.

@vormaerin Quarians are known for their tech expertise. Tali is noted even by her own people as an exceptional tech expert. I don't think there's a lot humans who can beat that. Garrus? Garrus was brought a long for his skills that he showed on Omega, which were pretty exceptional if you ask me.

Also, note that Cerberus spent a TON of money on bringing Shepard back. I'm not saying they're broke, though. Also, Cerberus DID hire Zaeed, who pretty much has the same skills as Garrus.

Okay, so keep Samara.   I think Thane, Garrus, Tali, Grunt, etc. are unneccesary especially if you can replace them with humans just as capable (even if you need 2 humans for Grunt XD).

Now you're just being ridiculous. Nobody is saying they can't possbly enjoy the game, and nobody is threatening to boycott. People are just discussingt the inclusion of a feature that they will benefit from. It happens all the time on these forums.
