Where are they?

Hi all,

Today I would like to draw attention to a topic that's actually on another forum which I don't think a lot of us tend to visit that regularily.

Cat Lance started this a little while back, and after I joined it was one of the first things I responded too, being of like-mind after visiting the store.  I just thought I might bring it to the forefront here to see if there's any interest beyond the few replies of those (I figure) just happened to be in the store forum.  Then maybe if we can generate more of a response maybe we'll end up seeing some, y'know...shirts.  For women.  (And if something's already in the works about this I'm calling it a retroactive victory.)

And if I'm way off base...no harm no foul, nature'll take it's course and this thread'll die.  But otherwise, I'd be excited to see something happen in regards to getting proper shirts for us gals.

Next step:  Topless protest.

I'd be all for female fitting shirts!

I'm not sure topless protest would be the way to get what we want. May hurt our cause more than help . . .

How can a company that makes female models for their games each day not understand that women tend to have bewbs?

I'm not sure what the problem is. Those t-shirts look like they'd fit a man or woman.

Am I the only one who thinks the topless protest should have been the first step? Girl power. *Raises a fist.*

Anyhow, it seems all the shirts are sold out already. Them folks at Bioware should look into stocking shirts of the male and female variety next time around.

Maybe it was the sizes I got.

The one I have - the arm seams hang five inches down my shoulder causing the sleeves to flutter listless like the torn wings of a distressed bat. The rest hangs from my shoulders tented by the normal hills and valleys of the typical female form. I  wear it only for gardening.

The previous one mummified my chest.

Shouldn't female tee-shirts be cut on the diagonal in any case? I'd like a normal tee that doesn't look like I am swimming or bound.

imported_beer's pretty much got the answer covered on this one.  Basically it's the difference between something that just fits and something that's fitted - and aestheticaly speaking, that can be all the difference in the world.

For another way of looking at it:  There's things are are merely edible (i.e. grass, bugs) and then there's things you would actually go out of your way to buy for dinner (i.e. pizza, sushi, or whatever your taste may be).

That sounds like it was poorly cut, imp. I bet BioWare is using Chinese gold farmers to make their shirts.

If I understand you correctly, I wear grass and bugs. Will have to ruminate on that one.

Heh, I didn't say that.  They were examples in an analogy - about eating - and you just ran with it, smart alec.  (Though I like your use of "ruminate", haven't heard that one in a while.)

Y'know, after I posted that analogy I thought it may be more confusing than helpful... then I went and made a sandwich.  Ah, c'est la vie!

But yeah, to try an stay relevant, just ignore my little metaphor and focus on the earlier part of what I wrote.  Hopefully that'll remain unmuddied regarding the topic.

Tight fitting t-shirts that fit correctly sound good to me ;-) I prefer to go shirtless myself but I can certainly appreciate a t-shirt that fits nicely and hugs the curves (of either sex).

Don't know if you are kidding too, but I thought the pink one with the a dragon  would be a pretty dragon age t-shirt. I have one with a dragon but I rarely use it...

The shirts looked lackluster on most of the folks male and female during the warden's calling event.

They did at one time have dragon age ladies tank tops but not sure if those were ever for sale. They had them on some gals at one of their earlier press/convention things.

Here is a link of a photo of them:

It would certainly draw attention to the issue. Just take a regular t-shirt, cut out 2 holes so they can fit, and you have your topless protest gear ready. :innocent:

I don't like female fitted shirts. When buying nerd apparel, I prefer to go for the mens/unisex in a smaller size. This is simply because, while the female shirts fit, they're uncomfortably cut. Most men probably wouldn't get it, but I'm sure some of the ladies understand when I say that I do not have an hourglass figure which is what the majority of shirts are made for. And they're not as long, and modern jeans do not have high enough waistlines. Every time I lean forward, I end up with my waist out and possibly with my undies in plain sight. THOSE ARE PRIVATE! >P

Men's/unisex are very comfortable, and if in the right size, are just long enough without being too wide and, in fact, can be very slimming.

That said, there are many ladies out there that do like these shirts. I agree with the motion to add female variants.

I support this.

When I get band Tshirts for some reason I always choose the design that doesn't come in a ladies size. I'm not bothered by it but I understand the need.

@the_one_54321...

Does that mean you simply support the notion or that you will also be going topless?

@Nighteye...

Technically you wouldn't be topless, just wearing a holey shirt.

@Hawkeyed Cai Li & Valsira...

See, that's the spirit! And I will continue to support your right to purchase the unisex variant of shirt. (Not that my support's necessary, but I will 'cause I'm cool like that...)

While I do agree with you, the men's cut is comfortable, I personally could never wear such a thing outside my home, and for the price I'm paying (in my financial bracket) I'd like to get more out of it than that.

The designs on the shirts are appealing enough that I'm happy to pay money and become an advertisement, Bioware's just gotta let me look good doing it.
