I dunno what triggered this but i think it was when i had the romance scene with merril and being the stupid **** i am i saved and continue along the game without giving it much thought. Anyhow whenever i entered the estate the dog companion is now at the foot of the stairs instead of next to the fireplace. Is there a way to corect this? Will it mess up cutscenes in the estate? Cause i'm not starting over again!

I had the same didn't cause any problems I just kept playing then eventually the dog went back to the fire place, so it fixes itself, not entirely a big deal. (Dog interaction scenes with my companion put the dog back where it was I believe)

Now i got Gamlen stuck inside my house. I hope this resets on my mage file when i hit act 3.
