Well obviously yes. The two games are in different leagues . Da2 was a nice game, whereas origins is epic. That about sums it up: nice v epic

DA 2 is better, people hate DA 2 just beacouse its different, you need to except the changes.Origins was an epic game.DA 2 isn't,its better, its not so epic but its personal, emotional and much great other things. If you exept that DA 2 is not meant to be a clone of origins, but something unique and great, youl see that DA2 is great and different from origins.I love both games, 10/10 for both games. But i like 2 a little bit more cuz of isabella :DDD

Without a doubt. Origins is better than MOST rpgs out there, the 6 different beginnings and engaging companion interactions are very unique and make it stand out.

Origins was very good, not perfect but definitely above average. DA2 was awful.

People don't hate on DA2 because it is different, they hate on it because overall it is pretty bad even without comparing it to the original. The combat was mindless, the environments was reused to the point I felt I was playing a Diablo clone and the story wasn't compelling at all.

I have no problem with them speeding up the combat compared to the original, I have a problem with enemies spawning from thin air at random spots which completely throws any strategy out the window.
I have no problem with DA2 being focused mainly on a city, I have a problem with how they made one set of environments and used them for the entire game.
I have no problem with the plot not being about saving the world, but I would have liked it being about something at all.

Based on the concepts DA2 could have been great, but it isn't. For me it was the game that changed my look on Bioware from a game company that I know will do good games to just another game company.

Overall a huge disappointment and based on DA2 I doubt I will pre-order something from Bioware again.

DAO was a truly epic almost masterpeice of a game , love almost every moment , DA2 has some inprovments , but falls short of of being as good if i had to rate to the 2 games i would give

DAO 9.5/10
DA2 7.5/10

When I played DAO for the first time I played as a human warrior, somehow I felt a connection with my avatar as soon as Duncan entered the scene. After the battle at Ostagar that connection grew only stronger and so on in the entire game.
DA II never gave me that emotional connection, I didn't belong to a special group like the Grey Wardens etc.
DA II didn't realy give me a cause, sure there were reasons to fight but not far as emersive or emotionaly attached as DAO.

My two cents

The next Dragon Age game needs a major combat revamp, overhaul and rethink. A level 50 enemy mage casts the same 2 spells as a level 3 mage.

I dont care if they recycle the same environments. In fact I hope they do.... IF, by recycling environments, the time they save is spent innovating the combat system.

Is what Bioware has envisioned for DA3 is to have the same mage template from level 1-50 casting the same two spells throughout the entire game? Lets hope not.

And I should say, that despite all the DA2 bashing, I actually like the game. If Bioware presented me with a survey where I would list all that I liked about it I would gladly fill it out with detail and care.

I mean, it cant be easy to be a dev whos put so much into a game and then have most of the people on your own forum bashing its flaws instead of highlighting and commenting about what they liked!

But yes, as players we are going to pick out the flaws in the hope that future games will not include them.

My vote goes to DAO. It's more robust than DA2. With that said, DA2 is far from a bad game.

Let me put it like this: I've beaten DA:O six times. I beat DA2 once, and haven't been able to care enough to finish a second complete run. As much as I really want to like the gameplay in DA2, I just can't.

Waves of enemies spawning at your feet or from mid-air are bad.
Reusing such a limited number of maps, not just for side quests but also the main quest, is bad.
Not being able to actually have any impact on events regardless of which side you take is bad.

We aren't there to hold the hand of the devs, especially if they sell a product that is blatantly rushed and feels like a beta version instead of the final version. If they do something right they get praise, if they do something wrong they get blame and rightfully so. Giving praise no matter what devalues the act thus restricting the target into a perpetual state of mediocricy. Praising them no matter what they do is the worst thing we can do as customers. After all, why would they try hard to make a good game if we are happy with whatever crap they kick out the door?

It's a simplistic question. But, I will say no, DAO is not better than DA2. DA2 has something that I value that DAO does not. DA2 is fast. DAO is slow.

Both games are far from perfect. They could both stand to learn from each other. But, DAO's slowness just sucks the life out of the game for me. And the silent protagonist reminds me of Utha from the Awakening expansion.

S***est. Argument.Ever.

if that was true i would hate Mass Effect 2 and The Witcher 2 because they're different, but i prefer them over their prequels.
you need to find a good argument.
Also, i said this once, and i'll say it again:
WORK. ON. YOUR. SPELLING. AND GRAMMAR.
("you need to except the changes" ???)

I think Origins is definately better. It has way more replay value than DA2, and I personally like the gameplay better. Just what I think.

While Dragon Age 2 had some improvements (I liked how you could actually dodge attacks by moving around, whereas in origins wants the animation is made there is no way to dodge it), Dragon Age: Origins is by far the superior game.

So why did you modify your post? Spelling mistake? Or was it the grammar? <_<

Yes! Origins is better without a doubt. DA2 was a real let down for me, and only managed to hold my attention for a month before I got bored. Where as I'm still playing Origins; it has a better story better companions and a more personal and emotional feel to it.

To test, play through Dragon Age: Origins and do all the sidequests you can. Then, see if you can play the demo of Dragon Age 2 without crying and breaking everything in your line of sight.

Indeed, DAO is a lot better story wise by far
