Huh, it looks like he has the Cerberus logo on his chest. Maybe it's Kai after all.

Also, lets not forget that despite all our best affections for our squadmates, not all of them are so motivated by heroism that they'd want to continue putting their lives on the line.

Remember, a good many of them were HIRED by the Illusive Man. Know where a mercenary goes when you stop paying him? The horizon.

Jack, Miranda, Jacob, Thane, Zaeed, Kasumi, Morinth and Samara are all people that I can see leaving for no better reason then "Why me?"

Oh yeah, apparently he's the one TIM ultimately sends after Shepard. Too exciting!

Five bucks says Shepard gets his ass handed to him in the first encounter.

I love the scenes where we see that Shepard is after all,  just a human, like for example, the scene when fighting the Shadow Broker, how he gets flung off like a fly

Yeah... I won't even bother reading the article until the article is translated more efficiently into English.

Then again, so is Kai.

But...I don't think Shepard was as fiercely trained as Kai, so I'll still count on broken bones among other things.

TIM just handed out the dossiers, the only one he hired was Zaeed and maybe Kasumi. But what if Shepard romanced one of the squadmates? I guess Shep isn't good enough for them to stick around then, huh?  :P

So we spent the entire second game asembling a squad for..... one mission.

...Yes? That was the whole point of the game. Cerberus buys the "badasses" of the Galaxy to help Shepard with the collector threat, so they aren't going to hang around forever. I'm okay with that, and we know for a fact that we'll be seeing all of those characters in the game again to some extent.

Some squad mates might not be able to show up to the trial.

Jack is a wanted criminal.

Miranda and Jacob are known Cerberus Operatives. And Cerberus is an enemy of the Council. So they might be put into custody if they show up.

Thane might visit Kolyat or Keplar Syndrome might be a problem.

Tali is with the Migrant Fleet.

Samara seemed to be there only for the suicide mission. Or she could leave you because you killed 300K+ Batarians.

Grunt isn't much use at the trial. So he's probably at Tuchanka.

Garrus, Ashley/Kaiden, Sanders and Liara are able to show up to trial with no problems (and they don't really have anywhere to go). There probably going to be your starting squad mates. They were confirmed first.

Concerning the split up: Really guys? really?! You honestly didn't see it coming, not even after what they did to the squad in me1? Don't be so upset, you knew this was coming, were getting new crew aboard, just accept it.

regarding the info: Kai Leng is in, yeess, I can't wait to kill that racist bastard. Also seems to say we will indeed visit PALAVEN. WOO!

I'm loving the news about locations we visit. We only went to a few (well-detailed) worlds in ME1. In ME2 the worlds were in the Terminus and tended to be less populated or less important to the Galaxy. But the Turian and Salarian homeworlds will be fun to explore - really excited about what they come up with.

I, too, don't understand how anybody could be surprised about the team splitting up. They pretty much said this in GI already, with all the talk of cameos and temporary squadmates.

I wonder if Palaven mission will have something to do with that reaper artifact they brought there in evolution and the "evolved turian cultists".

I wouldn't mind a chance to spar with Star Trek DS9's Kai Winn while we're at it.

Yeah, but some will come back. I am guessing all the romance characters will be back.

She is in all likelihood not.  Only in one circumstance would she be.

She is either...
A: Exonerated by obfuscating for her father, in which she is endeared to you.

B: Exiled, and you gave her refuge, in which case she is endeared to you.

C: Exiled for treason and wandering aimlessly because you didn't do her loyalty mission (or probably she just stayed with you because she got exiled anyway)

D: Dead from the suciide mission.

And the only one where she would likely return to the Migrant Fleet...

E: You exonerated her by blowing the lid on her father's doing, betraying her trust in you.

Note that after her loyalty mission, her adult ship name changes to "vas Normandy" on the crew listings in the elevator.

Maranda,Jacob, and Samara would be the type to stay.
For one Jacob and Maranda would stay because they know humanity is indanger and we already have seen what depths they would go to save their race. They would not only go to hell but also sell the selves to the devil to save all of use.
A Samara the code is clear, someone going to unjustifiable kill an entire speices of people, that's a wrong to be right.
Morinth may just stay brcause she likes fighting.
Kasumi, the samething that can be said about Miranda and Jacob can almost be said about her. She would not stand by a see her speices killed off.
Jack, I do not know.....
And Zaeed is a loner so, I don't no. Maybe if he has some family still on earth or some where.

The GI article specifically says he's not an idiot, but a seasoned soldier. He is, however, a newb when it comes to galactic politics and the whole Reaper thing. He will act as the "new guy" to fill new players in on the story and background. If done well, it could work great for new players while being full of humor for vets.

On a side-note, I think it's hilarious how aggressively ignorant Fenix is in GoW. He has to be one of the least intellectually curious characters I've ever seen in a video game.
