As far as the team falling apart, that was kind of obvious. Mordin is going to the salarian homeworld to deal with the genophage dispute, Tali is definitely going back to the flotilla, Samara is a vagabond by trade and has no duty to Shepard any longer, and Zaeed and Kasumi don't even really count. They can make up any ol' thing they want for the rest.

I think 'falling apart' is a rather dramatic way of putting things and hence the trouble with going by the translation to a Belgian article. Unless the writers really are penning something that fits such a description, I'd think the term 'going their separate ways until needed' is more fitting.

Your missing the point. If you hate him, than that means he's a good character.

That's not true. It all depends on if you hate him for the reasons the writer wanted you to hate him or if you hate him because of something else entirely. Only in the case of the former is the character a success.

Someone used your argument in the DA2 threads once, and I can't remember who posted it, but I found this to be an excellent rebuttal: "Bella Swan says hi."

It those cases the viewer would point out how the persentation of the character is flawed. Or talk about how the character damages the plot. In those cases it's just bad writing that's the problem.
Most character dislike is as a person most times.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad writing. Just because it doesn't conform to your idea of how things should go down doesn't make it a plot-hole. Just because you don't approve of something doesn't mean it's a retcon.

For everything else, there is fanfiction.

Not what I mean. Every thing you listed is just most cases of the viewer not paying attention or having a limited view point in themselves. Those are cases you just can't please everyone. But in a case in which a character is state to be hated with no clear fault to the character pestentation, then it clear that it's the person thats hate not the character.......The point is theirs alack of arguement. It's a "I hate him just because  and that it" arguement.

Kai Leng's claim to fame is he killed a Krogan in a bar brawl. Shepard takes our Krogan with his/her eyes shut.

That may be true but Shep is fully armed doing it. He killed a krogan without anything but a knife. He even tookour a heavily armoured squad of Turians with only a knife.
He gets the Brock Samson prize for that.

Shepard is going on trial. The rest of the team will probably go their separate ways to gather support against the Reapers.

Legion has no real reason to leave because he communicates with his "constituents", if you will, at lightspeed. And the geth seem to be all aboard the "let's **** the Reapers up" train, no problem.

Other than that, Garrus can do his Archangel, bad cop thing in the meantime; gathering some intel or whatever the hell it is he does.

That just leaves Jack, Thane and the Cerberus operatives. Can't really think of anything they could do but wait around. It'll be interesting to see how this goes.

I just hope that the fight with Kai isn't another pew-pew gunfight. We need one decent hand-to-hand fight in the trilogy, BioWare.

I'll fourth you for emphasis. I want some good old melee fighting. No weapons, no armour.. just two pairs of fists.

..it'd be a good excuse to do some practice sparring with Garrus beforehand..

I can understand the team breaking up, for safety reasons. Besides, its not like you can bring two Cerberus operatives, a Convict, a genetically enhanced Krogan, an Assassin, the former leader of one of the largest Mercenary groups, a semi-known thief, a Geth, and a Vigilante with you to the trial.

Only Samara's, Mordin's and Tali's word would be possibly admissible.

On the Kai Leng note, as long as hey don't pull a Zeveran (not saying it was bad, just saying they already did that) I'll be happy fighting him. Hopefully he will become a new Saren.

Not sure I like the sound of Sanders. But then, with Kaidan/Ash, Liara and Garrus already confirmed as squadmates, I doubt Sanders would be spending much time on my team anyway. He'll be staring at the wall and polishing his .. weapon alot.

As for the team having disbanded, this is hardly a surprise. Shepard's been in custody for however long, not everyone will have hung around. I thought the ME2 team was for one particular mission, anyway - the suicide run through the Omega Relay, not the wider war against the Reapers. If Zaeed's been paid, he's probably retired (or is still looking for Vido), Kasumi's on the run from whoever's looking for the greybox, or just trying to rebuild her life without Khaji, Jack's probably out there on a one-woman crusade to destroy Cerberus, Thane is spending his last few months with his son, Mordin is getting on a bit and can't keep the pace, Samara has been called back to help protect Asari space from the Reaper force, Grunt  is helping defend the clan, Tali has been asked to do some high level research into the dark energy issue either by the Fleet or the Alliance, Legion is having to help with some unexpected issues arising from whatever happened with the heretic geth, and Jacob and Miranda are both back with Cerberus (for the moment), or possibly Jacob's returned to the Alliance. This assuming, of course, that they are all still alive or were recruited in the first place. No retconning necessary, it makes sense.

And actually, I'm sure this won't be the case in all instances. I am as positive as I can be that at least a couple of the above will be available as squad members in ME3 (my money's on Tali, Legion or another geth platform if Legion wasn't recruited, Grunt or another Krogan if Grunt wasn't activated, and either Jacob or Miranda). Mordin is a distinct possibility as a temporary squaddie if we go to the Salarian homeworld.

Haven't read Retribution, though I did quite enjoy the previous two books. Is it any good?

I just get feeling, that assassin in Gameinformer magazine that breaks into Deck1 window, is Kai Leng!
He has N7 armor with improvements, that explains a lot and he breaking alone (yet there could have been a batallion of soldiers with rocket launchers.

What do you think?

She's on the run anyway.  It's not like everyone knows whether or not she erased Keiji's graybox.  I mean, I doubt a press release was issued.

Shepard vs Kai Leng? One on one please Bioware and some CQC. Shepard is over 9000, he can take Kai Leng. Also about the team split up: It was obvious that some of them will leave for good and that we will not get everyone back. I'm just happy Garrus and Liara are back as well as Ash. I hope that we get Miranda and Mordin back and that would be enough for me.

Ugh, I'd rather not have any GoW types in my Mass Effect. :P Hopefully it's just an exaggeration. Having not read the books I know nothing about the other guy, being hunted can work quite well if done right. Hopefully he doesn't just turn out to be ME's Zevran!

Being dutch I can tell you that atleast that part of the translation is accurate. I've written a properly translated version of the page, but I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to post it.

Hilarious. I love seeing all the ME2 fanboys making the same complaints about ME3 that ME1 fanboys were making of ME2. "Waaah, everything we did in ME2 was sidelined!" Suck it up and deal with it, just like you told everyone who had problems with ME2. Poetic justice.

It's hard to care about any new squad members like this Sanders dude when the whole ME1 cast is pretty much on the team. I'll probably roll with Garrus and Liara for the whole game or Garrus and Wrex if Wrex is on the team.

Made some edits to the OP,

EDIT: A native Dutch user on the forums was kind enough to translate the article for me, so here's a more accurate translation:  better translation - Google Docs
