Another
character that makes its appearance in Mass Effect 3, James Sanders, a
muscular man who "looks like a football player on steroids diet," says
Chief.
So the male players gets females with big boobs and tight suits while the girls gets a body builder?
Your point, BW?

I sent in the improved translation, I wasn't sure if it was okay to post it here so instead I figured I'd send it to Jav.

I still think that writer is confused and thinks James Sanders is the Big Ben sniper. A couple of magazines got it wrong so far, so why not this one as well?

That may be true but Shep is fully armed doing it. He killed a krogan without anything but a knife. He even tookour a heavily armoured squad of Turians with only a knife.NICKjnp wrote...
Kai Leng's claim to fame is he killed a Krogan in a bar brawl. Shepard takes our Krogan with his/her eyes shut.
He gets the Brock Samson prize for that.
From what people have been saying on these threads he seems to come across as a mary sue from a kung fu theatre fan boy. Having not read the books I can not say if that is an accurate protrayal, but that is what I am getting from what people are saying about him.

As far as the team falling apart, that was kind of obvious. Mordin is going to the salarian homeworld to deal with the genophage dispute, Tali is definitely going back to the flotilla, Samara is a vagabond by trade and has no duty to Shepard any longer, and Zaeed and Kasumi don't even really count. They can make up any ol' thing they want for the rest.
I think 'falling apart' is a rather dramatic way of putting things and hence the trouble with going by the translation to a Belgian article. Unless the writers really are penning something that fits such a description, I'd think the term 'going their separate ways until needed' is more fitting.
Being dutch I can tell you that atleast that part of the translation is accurate. I've written a properly translated version of the page, but I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to post it.
Ah, I see. And thanks for the translation!

I'm not going to lie, I'm very wary of this "football player on steroids diet". If the character remotely resembles anyone from Gears of War he'll never be on my squad
Oh god why. WHY. I DON'T WANT ANOTHER CHRIS REDFIELD. RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE.

As for James Sanders, as long as he is not the typical space marine with more muscle than brain I am looking forward to learning more about him.

ME2 was/is pointless.
If ME2 was pointless, then ME1 was even more pointless.
I simply do not understand this naive desire for perfect closure that exists on these forums. Only in fantasy pony-land do you defeat enemies of this scope in a single battle. You have set-backs; what looked like a definitive solution turns out to not be when the enemy finds another way. All war is a back-and-forth, give and take.
But that does not mean the previous battle was pointless. If you had lost that battle, then there would be no further battles to fight. Furthermore, things happen along in the journey (Rachni queen, Krogan genophage, etc...) that can play an important role in further battles.
I understand that this is escapist entertainment, and that we do not want things to be messy like they are in real life.
And that we want our squadmates to be puppets that bend to our every whim. But it is not bad storytelling for BioWare to act otherwise.

It makes perfect sense that the team would be split up at the beginning of me3, its the perfect plot device to introduce new people to the characters and allows for some characters to only return in a non squadmate role.
Logically if the whole team stayed together and we started me3 with them any new player would be really pissed and a large part of the game would make no particular sense, plus we already know the normandy is in alliance hands now, so what did people think the me2 team was just waiting outside the court.
If Shepard wilingly goes on trial to explain his/her actions then it would make perfect sense to disband the crew first and set up rendevous points with them later. Now take into account places we kinda know we may visit in me3, Tchunkha, salarian homeworld, migrant fleet etc. wouldnt it make sense that while in these places we would run into old friends and find some of them rectruitable.
We already know garrus is a potential squadmember (permanent or temporary) and i kinda recollect him being a part of my crew in me2 so whats to say that its not going to be the same with most of the others also?
We start the game most likely with the new guy and the vs, we leave earth and go about building the forces we need to win the war and along the way we reunite with miranda/grunt etc. some of these join us and some dont, which ones we'll find out later but just getting in a tizzy because they won't be in our squad from the get go is missing the point. With what we know of the plot and storyline so far, having them in from the get go makes absolutely no sense.

I don't understand all the Gears hate. All other male humans on the squad(Kaiden and Jacob) are scrawny, but a beefy character is out of the question? Are Krogan the only ones allowed to be Tank characters? Further than that, why hate on Gears? Its a damn good game with a good story(not as good as ME, but still).
It depends on how beefy. Realistic human beefy, or comic book beefy. I don't want to see the juggernaut. But muscled out dude, I see them every day at the gym. And at the rate I am going in a year or so close to when I hit 40 I'll see one every time I look in the mirror. Lift weights or Diet, I chose lift weights. Don't ask for an and I only got the willpower for one of them.

THIS is the source of all of my hate for Gears of War. It's pathetic, low, and degrading to the story as well as that stupid stereotype of the "big black guy with an attitude"
As to the "football player on steroids", Having them bumble around with biceps the size of their waists and heads is just silly, stupid, and looks like it's made to appeal to prepubescant children, and has no place in the Mass Effect universe.
Bottom line?
Larger muscle =/= More deadly opponent.

Soldiers lift weights, some soldiers are really big. I'm not seeing why it's a problem, especially since almost all the Mass Effect humans are the same body-type. The conclusions people on this site draw from the smallest things are just ridiculous.

The exact wording is what I have a problem with. The wording "looks like a football players on a steroids diet" suggests that this person is apparantly quite a bit more musclular than an above average soldier.
However, I honestly don't care very much because we havent seen him yet- and if I don't like him? I'll just leave him on the ship.
