Kaidan, sure.
Ashley? Harder to believe.
But, Bioware will take their story wherever they want. After all, socially awkward recluse Liara became Shadow Broker.

It's not just you. Apparently I missed the announcement.

A lot can change sure but it didn't seem to have changed by ME2, from what we got to see anyway.

And how much do you know of what she has done since the last 2 years + couple of months since SHepard last saw her?Zatwu wrote...
Survivor and Ruthless Shepard still demonstrate a bit of brilliance on Eden Prime and finding proof of Saren's guilt.

Either way, I wouldn't put this on the 100% certainty angle.

She's alot better at logistics than Saren or Tela Vasir that's for sure.Zatwu wrote...
Now this is not meant to insult Ashley or anything, she's really good at fighting. But given the kind of things the Spectre's have to di I get the impression that there are a lot of logistics they need to be able to handle, and Ash has never demonstrated an ability for that. I can see her getting promoted pretty high, like I said she's a great soldier. She just dosn't seem subtle enough for a secret agent.

No one here knows anything. The Virmire survivor becomes a spectre based on recent info from magazines
How the hell did that happen, I am sure they will explain that key piece of information

No, that's War Hero Shepard. Or were you talking about Eden Prime? Didn't Ash help out a bit there?

Then again, I'm still not 100% believing the magazine about the Spectre thing.

Where did you get the idea that Spectres are secret agents or subtle?!! Their names are not classified, and Spectres usually go in guns blazing. Hell even the Councilor said this in the first game "spectres often attract a lot of attention."Zatwu wrote...

Some of their names aren't. But not all of them are known. Both high- and low- profile Spectres have their uses. For obvious reasons, the devs decided Shep would be the high-profile sort.atheelogos wrote...

Maybe we'll hear about some awesome work they've been doing while Shepard was dead, but so far we've seen them... Fail to protect colonists and refuse to assist Shepard in defeating the Collectors.

You were being looked at to be a spectre BEFORE Eden Prime (and was that even really meant to be impressive?) and both Ash and Kaidan were involved in that too. You didn't exactly see allot of them in ME2.Zatwu wrote...

That's a really strange objection to make too, considering that after the Prologue, what we did see was them on an actually rather Spectre-like assignment: a covert, solo operation in the Terminus, ostensibly to install colony defenses as part of an Alliance outreach program, but in truth to investigate rumors of Cerberus' involvement in the colony abductions.
