They also did plenty of other shady things with their article, like clearly mixing "fact" and speculation on the same spread. PSM3's ME3 article was atrocious, and it doesn't matter how long you've been a fanboy--that's not relevant.
I'm not a fanboy (firstly I'm not even male). All I'm saying is don't discredit the entire legitmacy of the article because of speculation. If people think that article was 'atrocious' they really need to read some of the other gaming magazines/journals out there, because gaming journalism as a whole hasn't exactly being fantastic. When something is fact, they clearly state it so, and they place speculation with words like 'we think' or 'we assume'. Just because people can't actually tell where speculation is present doesn't mean that the writers of the article are going to LIE about anything.
PSM isn't some backwater, unknown magazine, it's offical and pretty widely read. GI is not much better and I've seen some pretty bad GI articles. But GI has never lied, neither has PSM.
it isnt about a LIE. it is about accurracy and fact rather than speculation and purportation (but retain a level of believability). magazines, newspapers, and tv news reports have been known to be wrong. As of late, it is more popular to speculate the truth before truth is known and reported...cuz its a business and any news is great so long as it is first and fast. some of those listings under the squadmates are speculatory and im not holding my breath for any of them till BW says 100% yay or nay.

Her Spectre status was revoked when she "died", and if you save the Council they offer to reinstate the position, but being a Spectre is already largely meaningless position, and it proved Shepard doesn't need that weak and lame position.
So why the hate towards Ash or Kaidan becoming Spectres? It is actually an inferior title from where Shepard stands now.

From the Council's viewpoint Shepard is fast becoming the next Saren. A rogue ex-Spectre who doesn't follow Council orders and even allies with enemies like Cerberus to get the job done.

Humanity would definitely want another human Spectre with Shepard gone. VS is the obvious choice.
the Council determines who spectres are...not humanity. i still dont see why the original council members would want someone who ran with Shep to be a spectre...especially if they were covering info up and no longer fully trusted Shep. Im sure there are better human candidates available. as for a human controlled council, picking a human spectre so soon after Sheperd's death would have been a political misstep and upset a few angry at humanity's rise in power. It would be even worse if they chose one of Shep's human crew members, an individual now linked to a human supremest group and a person not entirely loved by non-human races.
IMHO of course.

if a human was to be a spectre and run with Sheperd in ME3...why not a new character? I mean, this isnt Star Wars The Clone Wars (the animated series)!! the universe is HUGE yet everyone seems so damned familiar! im sure there are more than enough humans with qualifications better than those of Ashley or Kaidan and can be introduced in a believable way by the excellent writers employed by Bioware. i mean...Anderson was the first human candidate and he was N7. Sheperd was the first selected and he/she was N7. The elite. best of the best. top dogs. Ashley and Kaidan werent then...but im cool with them being so now...N7 i mean.
Completely agree. Why not someone new or at least qualified, but Ill concede that it may make more political sense to have the VS be a Spectre, but that is only going to make their lack of qualifications more clear. Ashley as a Spectre is a joke. Its just one more reason though that I cant wait for her to get what she deserves in ME3.

Ashley / Kaidan spat on Shepards name on Horizon, making him / her and made him look like a traitor. I hope Kaidan / Ashley will not belong to my squad in ME 3.

What's your point? This thread is very obviously about the case where she's not dead, and what people think of the idea of a live Ash being a Spectre.

This appease the masses who once again had a trump card in spector hood and humanity was happy until shep came back....
Though what I don't get is why TIM didn't tell shep, the council para or ren didn't tell shep, or kennith down in engineering he was the most irrate one on the smear campaign launched against shep he would've heard the news VS was made spector, no news its like the council appointed them then gave strict instructions that no one mention it its kind of like the council already knew shep would come back and wonder about his job....
And did the council send Ash or Kaiden out to "set up" the guns on Horizon just to give the tech back to the council so they knew what fire power the Alliance had? There is no point going to Horizon the only one who had a maybe they'd attack that colony was TIM the council wouldn't send a spector on a maybe unless they wanted them dead like they did with shep and hunting the geth. So if the council now wants VSspector dead why not just fire them? They hired them and therefore are the only ones who can fire them.
And sending VS to Horizon to look into Cerberus makes no sense either why not just have them join Cerberus? That would've been more effective if they got to Wilson or Miranda's status they could've had leaked info to the Alliance or the council if they just embedded themselves under false or real names I mean a savior of the citadel working with Cerberus would've been a boost TIM wouldn't have turned them down.

This I could see them in N7 training but not a spector. Another human spector would be more believable.
