Sorry if this has been asked before. I've left an area, come back a couple quests later, and found unlooted enemies (and no, I'm not talking about actual "Corpse" corpses) I'd overlooked the first time around, so they definitely hang around for a while. So: do they stay until the end of each act or what? If so, wouldn't it make sense to not loot any (non plot-essential) enemies until just before the end of an act, so you get the most gold from them?

In my experience they stay till the end of the act, but since the loot gets determined as soon as you kill the enemy it doesn't make any sense to wait to scavenge their rotting corpses ; )

sometimes they stay, sometimes they don't. I've sometimes had sparkly corpses vanish while I was still in combat with a later wave, sometimes I come back to an area and find a sparkly corpse I must have missed earlier. it seems very inconsistent

If you have yet to add Runes of Fortune to your gear and want to get the most out of what they drop, it would be prudent to wait till you have all your RoF's you are planing on for that act in your gear before looting.

The Arcane Horror during Long Way Home is a prime example of this as it drops 6g everytime.  With general slot RoF's this can lead to more than 1.5g on top of that as a result of coming back later with +coin items and RoF runes as possible.

You're right, RoF still adds to the amount, but the base amount stays the same once it dropped, right?
btw. thanks for the RoF guide :)

yes, the amount is set on death of enemy. once you have your coin set and wish to max profit, save prefight, kill, loot, if drops are poor or lacking in number refight that encounter, you are almost assured more drops 2nd or 3rd time around. I do this with ARW as he will drop a rare about 10% of the time.

yes, hes on farm.

Ive gotten bonus epic(purple) items from High Dragon.
The chests next to the shade army golem in Primevil Thaig, right after Bartrands betrayal, can drop rares as well:
rare shields, staffs, & trinkets drop there

there are others, just cant seem to recall at the moment.

Are those chests rerollable through reload, or are they fixed once you enter the area?

I have done the fight, had a rare shield drop. Reloaded from the autosave where bartrand betrays you and not gotten the shield the 2nd pass through.

Long story short, yes.

Thx!
I tried to do some check myself as i kill big things.
Chests and other object are generated upon map creation (first entry), bosses drop on kill.
Many drops are set and dont warry too much - you can get a few silver or trash item. Sometimes i got 25s or generic item. But i havnt found anything worth reloading yet.

I have had a rare staff drop, but it was physical, I'm sure there are nice items on that loot table. The one I'm really after is the rare version of the corrupted necklace from the chest at the first Profane encounter.

corrupted = +% electrical
