So in my first playthrough I had Merrill in Primal, I didn't learn Blood of the First in this playthrough because I didn't really understand how Blood Magic worked :P This time I'm still making Merrill Primal, but I wanna learn more about using her blood magic.  I would like to know what builds you have for a Primal Merrill who uses Blood Magic.

P.S: I already have Talisman of Saarebas.

Read any guide. They all set her up as a Blood Mage.

You could also buy a ring in lowtown that improves bloodmagic(ring of minor catrips or similar).
I built merill in such way: 50 percent magic, the other constitution. And give her wrath of the eleven with the health regeneration upgrade. It heals even if bloodmagic is on.

I tried the Merril build here social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/305/index/6699754/1#6703572 (scroll down a bit) and she absolutely destroyed for me.

Thanks, I only saw this now and I'm already in Act III xD I'll make it in my 3rd playthrough then, the build seems really good. Btw, where do you get the ring?

50/50 is a waste.

You want to get merrill to around 25 con or below, then she has an armour upgrade that gives a large chunk of health, health regen and loads of rings, amulets and staves for improving blood magic efficiency. Most spells end up taking only a couple health and is regenerated instantly.

In the end I usually have merrill at 70 magic for very powerful spells.

On nightmare, something like assasin backstabs completely ignore armor. 25 is definetly not enough to survive that.(unless you like micromanaging every step)

Which ring? I didnt follow his guide exactly on equipment, but SuicidialBaby's builds have been a lifesaver for me, I not a natural tactician so it helped it all make sense.
