I've never done it, but assuming it's not a complete "No longer visible", we could have a doctor say "we can heal those scars for you", and Shep replies with "Whilst you're at it, could you maybe do a few touch-ups?"

Also? My Shep wants a good shave.

In the PSM3 article it says that if you import you'll keep the appearance of your existing shepard, I hope thats just more bad journalism and not a real fact, because it says the customization is much more extensive than ever, and I'd rather remake my shepard's face with these new options then keep the old one
Thing is, if you import a ME1 save, you can't do that in ME2 either. You can recreate the face in ME2 to get a code. It's not easy, (unless you take screens of the sliders in the ME1 CC), but it can be done. You can even go backwards w/ a ME2 to ME1 facecode converter. I just hope we can use the codes from ME2 in ME3.

how does it make sense to be able to change appearance over the course of two games? can you wake up in the morning and say "Gee I wanna look like Ronald Lee Ermy? I think not!
some people are going to want to change hair tho or give Shep a scar

In ME3 they need to atleast let us edit our hairstyle at the most. Some people might think there is no sense in editing Sheps but really there is. Some of us just want to shave or get a new tan or maybe a new eye color since eye color can actually change over time. Or maybe make that fat face a little bit more skinny if your shep has lost some weight. All these things make for a more immersing game.

I don't think it really has to make sense in the game. You could change your appearance any time you wanted in Dragon Age 2, provided you have the mirror from the Black Emporium and it didn't change the game in any way. I think it's more like changing the color of Shepard's armor, just one more way of customizing your game.

Who cares? It's a game for christ sake. A game in which you're fighting an ancient race of machines that are bent on destroying the galaxy. And they've been doing it for seemingly forever, or at least long enough to be considered forever in my book.

They talked about customization in relation to weapons and modding weapons in game, different barrels etc.
Don't get your hopes up for your Shep donning rasta dreds and nose rings.

So don't change your Shep, if given the option. You could've completely remade Shep's face in ME2 with an import as well. But you didn't did you?
But to say that it makes no sense? Really? This is a game - a work of fiction. How many movies/tv shows have had cast changes or characters cut their hair/etc from season to season or sequel to sequel. Shep died for crying out loud and came back and you're crying foul cause of some cosmetic changes?
Really? Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaly?!

I hope thats what they meant because to have new hairstyles and such and make it so only non imports can use them is trolling on a hideo kojima levelGill Kaiser wrote...
I'm guessing they meant to say you'll be able to keep you imported Shepard's appearance. IMO it wouldn't really make much sense not to let us change it.

GTFO, just because some people like to have an even more immersing game expirience does not mean we are worried about a "brow lift" before an imminent invasion. There is not excuse for not letting us edit our hair or put a new scar on our face before the events of ME3 kick off. No excuse at all.
