I don't know. Orsino's blood magic was powerful enough to penetrate the armor. That's saying something about sex with elves

 The ending was pretty horrible, especially compared to the epicness that was the ending of Origins. The ending highlights how none of your choices matter. The ending is the same no matter who you side with. Either way you kill Orsino and Meredith, and the mages get slaughtered. After all the different endings that you could have in Origins, it's really disappointing. And on top of all that, there is no resolution. The game just ends on a ridiculous cliffhanger. They don't even tell you what happened to your companions.

both. the sex was just that good. Meredith had gone so long without sex, and this was everything she wanted. and more.

I'm surprised there aren't that many posts about how the game ended.  Just finished my first run through after killing meredith the game simply ended. What happened afterwards? varric said I disappeared and everyone left except Merrill (I was looking forward to some more one on one with her after the battle!). Isn't it just weird for the game to end like that with even the player not knowing what happened to my own character? 

Some other random thoughts
-Apparently I earned Vicount in my achievements tab, nothing in game about it
-Merril wasn't there when I was fighting Meredith. why?
-I prevented meredith from indiscriminately destroying the mages, killed the mage boss and then her. But apparently that equates to siding with the mages? I sided with the templars.
-what was that little scene at the end. I hope they release a DLC to continue the story soon, very unfulfilled right now

Oh last note, I watched the all of the credits and it didn't say "Directed by M. Night. Shyamalan". Now I'm confused.

about the underlined part, that actually is siding with the mages

if you had let merideth kill the mages, then you'd be siding with the templars

but yea I agree with you, I wasn't a huge fan of the ending either

that was what first came to mind for me too, but fist of the maker was just lifting them up and down and up and down. It involved no fists. Bioware lied to me.

I much rather preferred in DA:O how gregoir and irving actually seemed like good friends. some mages and some templar hated each other but moderates still existed that wanted peace and cooperation

it seems like in DA:2 they made every single mage a libertarian and no aequitarians/loyalists existed

I absolutely love this image! I too thought of a possible story line with them as very very good friends and lovers. I can totally see it. LOVE!
