Kaidan/Ashley are really Spectres in ME3? *Confirmation needed*

Some of us are working hard at avoiding spoilers and when you put something in the title, even if its false, it's a PITA.

Oh well count me doubly impressed. Do you think we can count that as a confirmation from the powers to be then?Vertigo_1 wrote...

Ok I'm impressed, never saw that in the scan. So until Bioware confirms one way or another I'd say thats a tenative yes. Personnaly would have preferred them just being N7s, but I guess they'd need one Spectre to take down another.
To clarify:
This is not a scan but the screenshot Bioware themselves released.
I just zoomed in on the part that people weren't readily seeing.
Which is understandable since the logo is right where the glare is on his armor...

they changed James Sanders' name. they can change a logo and take away the title.
exactly! crap i dont know the term...not concept art...but not a ingame shot....just a render with a few characters using the same tech as ingame stuff? you know what i mean.
as far as we know the entire VS spectre thing is something they are kicking around. as ive said many ah times. if VS first appearance in ME3 is as a spectre...im gonna be miffed!!! if it VS is promoted in ME3 I will be okay with it.
Cuz all evidence in ME2 points to VS not being spectres, rather they seem to be members of the Alliance investigating Cerberus...not Shepard specifically...perhaps Intelligence, Security Forces, or Internal Investigations division. ME3 happens months after the suicide mission and arrival...I HIGHLY doubt they could have done anything in that short of a time to rate the title.
And with what becoming a spectre meant in ME1 it would be CHEAP if Bioware went....
BOOM !!! Rise VS and become the Spectre you were destined to be! without a indepth story behind it.

-ME2, Shep dies. Council needs a new human Spectre (especially since humans have clout now). On Horizon, they "have to report to the Council*." Not an admiral, not to the Alliance, not to Arcturus. Spectres report directly to the Council.
-ME3, ???
*shrug?* Makes sense to me.
(... on second thought, is it "the Council" or "the Citadel?" ... similar implications, but a bit more wiggle room with the latter. Still: it was my first thought on playing Horizon that they did in fact get promoted, after tIM and Anderson talking up the classified bit.)

cuz the council has set a quota for species numbers in the Spectres.....affirmative action is how VS gets the spot?
or some kind of indirect pseudo-nepotism type dealybob?
they say they have to report to the Citadel....not the council. the council isnt the only thing on the Citadel...and they say plain as day they are with the Alliance. and they did get promoted..a promotion in the Alliance.

I think an ulterior motive of Anderson sending the VS to Horizon WAS to investigate Shepard, since rumour had it that Shepard was working for Cerberus (which was true).corporal doody wrote...

I agree with you though, just look at the VS' armour on Horizon. It's probably because of some deep, personal taste that Ashley Williams wears Phoenix armour (I mean, come on! It's basically corpsman's wear. She's a frontline marine/soldier). But really, SpecTRes can't get a paint job?
Derrrrp.
Plus the new council in my Fem!Shep's playthrough hates Anderson and the Humans <_<

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought that frequenting a forum with large letters saying "NO SPOILERS" was ok, but obviously, I'm just an ass.
My apologies.

Just so you don't spoil it further for yourself, this forums doesn't allow ME1 or ME2 spoilers but it doesn't ban ME3 spoilers yet, probably because there haven't been any particularly big ones yet. I'm probably going to leave these forums after E3, only checking the Confirmed Features non-spoiler section for gameplay information.

Probably the only way to avoid spoilers is just to ignore any ME3 news period until the game comes on... which is nigh impossible if you frequent forums or any gaming site.

Kaidan would make a terrible Spectre...
I think he'd make a pretty good spectre, he was higher in command than Ashley and most biotics have the potential to be pretty powerful, plus I'm sure after two or more years he has sharpened his skills, especially after aiding Shepard in defeating Saren and the Geth (and Sovereign.)

Rank doesn't really matter, considering Kaidan joined at age 22 (pretty late for someone aiming for career) and Ash is/was blacklisted.SkittlesKat96 wrote...

Do you think he got an L3/4/5-R upgrade or he stays an L2? He already said he didn't want to considering how dangerous it is, but I don't know, maybe human biotic research has improved since then?
Also: I assume there would be a cap to his powers based on his implant. Maybe a little less or as powerful as a normal L5?

I think the person happiest about this promotion will be Joker - it's almost endless source for lulz. My poor Mona. "What will Commander say? I mean, SpeCTRe Commander? Dah, Sentinel SpeCTRe Commander? Damn, Shepard, you should just marry him to become a same person in reports"

I'd have to always let Kaidan be the Virmire survivor, because Ashley and spectre just don't go together, it completely destroys the credibility of the game.
