It seems the site just reached 50.000 users (as shown by the url if you check the user profiles).

Not bad for a site focusing on a game that is not even out yet.

Which makes me even more frightful about no steam pre-load!

That's 50000 confirmed buyers. That's not even counting the people that will have no idea (cave dwellers) that the game was even due to be released. Those that end up going to their local wally world, Kmart, Best Buy, or other various stores and see it on the shelf. After knowing this, I'm fairly certain this franchise will survive. If only barely. :P

How do we see the number of posts a user has? JEBesh was going to hit post 1,000 today.

Hehe....methinks in DA:O case, ti's deserved hype. A rarity.

Frak, I can't friggin wait. I pre-ordered, but I guess it will take some time for the game to reach me. I'm tempted to [do bad things].

LdyShayna Edit:  Lotion, you know better.

Good question... Our post counts seemed to have disappeared from under our avatars sometime yesterday. What's up with that?

It was removed to discourage spamming just to increase post count.

A massive advertising push does wonders to a game's popularity. I'm just curious as to the amount of money they spent on this!

Very reasonable.  Seen it go out of hand on other forums. Especially those with ranks and titles tied to post count and/or ratings.

Shouldn't that be 50000 users because the game isn't out yet. From what I've seen you often get a lot of folk on in the run up, marketing and general anticipation, and then the bulk of them never return after the release, enticed on by another shiny shiny.

Ah, I wondered if that might be the reason. Unfortunate, but oh well. Thanks for the answer. ^_^

I would argue that the advertizing push has not been "massive", just VERY EFFECTIVE. They used social media well and keep doing little things to get the hype train going (character gen, social site, journeys, warden's quest). I gather that warden's quest was expensive to put on but they got sponsorship from logitech & alienware & another, so that helped defray costs. Whoever is the marketing manager for Bioware should get a raise (or two).

Isn't this tied to some EA thingomajigs? Are you sure it's exclusively people that have joined THIS site, and not just everyone and his mother that is registered to the EA thingomajig?

Well I ain't buying this game for PC, so less lag for the 49,999 user that probably will as they are on their PCs talking about the game.
[edit: unless you're using the PS3 internet browser for some strange reason]

Looks a lot better but my PC can't handle it so Xbox 360 for me.:D

Not all registered users will be purchasing the game upon release though. Some of us are from the old Bioware site and owners of prior games, but simply do not have interest in DA:O or at least are not inclined to buy it just yet. Posted ImagePosted Image
