Since Bioware wants to retcon everything from ME 2 I will kill Jack in 2 . She was a bad ass in that game . but she does not deserve to be nerfed.  Its utter bull sh*t what Bioware is doing now retconning everything from 2 so 3 will be a good guys game

I was unaware that the BioWare Social Center is such serious business.  I will refrain from making harmless one sentence comments that threaten the stability of the threads.  Thank you for your multiple off topic posts to correct the situation, although I must not be as smart as you since I can't help but think simply ignoring the post would have done more to prevent off topic posts than responding to it.  Personally my only conclusion was that responding to the post was serving a purpose other than you maintaining focus in this topic of earth shattering importance.

As a peace offering I'll get this topic back on track.

I think a softening of Jack is inevitable.  Keeping her as a total badass just for it's own sake is doing the character a diservice.  I thought Jack was the best written character in any video game that I've ever played and that character has a lot of potential for growth.  After her experiences in ME2 there is absolutly no way that the character would be the same in ME3.

Of course I don't have much invested in what does or doesn't happen to Jack because she's seeker food in my playthrough.

When bioware says softer I think they mean she'll just be more personable. You know, not as psychotic. Her look will most likely change a little (Just like all the other characters) and she'll probably be a bit more approachable.

As for her being bubbly and in a sun dress... I think those worries can be easily dismissed, I mean seriously, give the writers a bit more credit than that. They're not going to just take Jack for ME2 and toss it out the window for ME3.

in my first  playthrough she didnt even get off the ship (i was way to anxious and rushed) then she was the only one to die in my second (unloyal because of miranda fight) however,  tried till i got everyone to live. anyway, i do hope she changes somehow, not because i didnt like her, just because not evolving the character would flatten the plot somewhat.

Then why aren't they telling us more about the ME 2 crew being in 3 . Oh and why does Jack need a retcon.  We will see once ME 3 comes out but If I am right about this . Bioware will hear from us ME 2 fans

The problem I have with this is, she really isn't all that physchotic to begin with. She's supposed to be, but I hardly saw much of that at all. She doesn't trust you because you're with Cerberus, she steals files if you don't let her see them.... and that's about the extent to which she was an issue. No problems on missions and is OK with being talked to. At worst, she doens't want to talk to you when you lose her loyalty.

IMO, if you try to make this personality "softer" than you are going to lose the character. I'm pretty sure this is just a rumor, but I really hope Jack doesn't lose any of her swagger. Otherwise she's not the character I enjoyed.

if they actually did this, i would feel the same way, but there is no proof of a "retcon" just minor character changes that add to the overall story. im in full support of that.
