The femshep community came together for this? Funny, as an avid femshep player I disagree with a lot of the points.

Would you care to elaborate? It's fine that you disagree, but without giving reasons it sounds a bit hollow. ;)

I mainly disagree with the need for separate animations. Femshep to me is a badass space marine, the last thing I need is for her to have "girly" mannerisms shoehorned in. The way she sits and walks is absolutely perfect to me.

I don't see that as "a lot"  :]

Ah. Maybe that is a matter of taste. To me the male animations for FemShep are off. It's like leaving out the non-verbal communication in a talk. That feels odd as well. The company is trying to raise the bar and I think that female specific animations can contribute to a more realistic character. I do think that the crew of BW is certainly able to find the sweet spot between a male space marine and a female ballet dancer. ;)

You do understand that the male and female pelvis are different, right? There is a big difference between femshep walking like a badass space marine and walking like she's got a pair of big brass ones dangling between her legs. ME1s female animations weren't 'girly', they were feminine. There is a difference.

Although I will put in a request that they NOT use the female animations from DA2. I believe the politest term for femHawkes movement was that she looked like John Wayne.

Her animations weren't masculine either.

Poor dude Shep. Walked like a...I dunno what the hell he was walking like.

A gorilla in NFL gear is what it looks like to me.

My goodness, they could keep everything just as it is, even -I can't believe I'll say that- the hair. Just bring the femshep animations from ME1 back!

Everything Crash mentioned would be awesome, but this is the major issue for me, anything else I could deal with.

Heck, I want DudeShep's ME1 animations back too.  The limping gorilla gait looks silly on him too (though nowhere near the degree as it does on FemShep).

Also... how about some unique out-of-armor body models?  The lack of muscle on her strains suspension of disbelief: how is a skinny little thing like that a N7-rated marine?

I'm not saying take it to extremes (as in CANNOT UNSEE extremes), but something like this build:
Image IPB

Put some meat on 'er!  When FemShep belts a krogan with the butt of her assault rifle, I want to believe that the oaf's head really would get whiplash from her hitting him.  As it is, FemShep is the poster girl for the TV Trope "Muscles Are Meaningless"

Agree with everything, especially dialogue options!

Re: female rig like DA2's -- please don't make FemShep run like FemHawke! That was nauseating.

this is the point where i stopped taking this thread seriously:

wow, really? so i'm not a woman if i don't purposefully make myself small and unoffensive while i'm sitting?

While I find the initiative admirable, and some suggestions very much needed, there are few I respectfully disagree with.  And, for the record, I am an avid Fem!Shep fan.

Namely those suggestions have caught my eye:

------------------------------------------------------------

This is more a compliment to what is being done right and is really just for reassurance things will be kept as they are.

As previously mentioned, one of femShep’s defining features is she isn’t overly sexualised in what she wears on the battlefield. Her attire is appropriate and fitting. We hope to see this continue.

In the Game Informer article there are a couple of images where female soldiers in ME3 appear to have rather excessive busts. We hope this won’t transfer over to femShep and her armour stays appropriate to her frame.

My personal reaction to the armor in ME2: Where have light and medium suits gone? Why couldn't my Adept or Ilfiltrator wear something that didn't make them look trained to operate anti-tank armor? Sure, heavy made perfect sense for a soldier, but for those whose strengths aren't 'in-your-face' combat? Not so much.

I am not asking for Miranda/Samara style catsuits (though, personally, I'd take them any day over heavy N7). But why not Asari-commando style? Why not something akin to what Liara has, minus the lab coat part?

And, maybe I am just that shallow, but when I see female npc looking slick, sexy and fabulous, I want my character to be have an option to look like that too instead of being constantly stuck with 200lb worth of heavy plate on their frame.

Re: female rig like DA2's -- please don't make FemShep run like FemHawke! That was nauseating.

Animations: I think all agree that female Shepard using male Shepard animations was cringeworthy at times. DA II female animation? I didn't like it during the Demo, but in the actual game it was actually nice. Chuck it up to personal opinion but reusing DA II animation would be a big step forward from ME2 male animations.

I always felt that femshep should have had more muscle tone. My ideal femshep that i picture in my head is one that has a female MMA fighter type physique.

Femshep's arms are muscular and defined, or at least that's what I thought, maybe in dresses it doesn't show (except in the black dress, her arms are defined well enough their too), but that's probably because they use the same texture of other NPCs...but yeah, I like her body shape the way it is. Especially that's it's not slim with huge assets like Miranda, so yeah...I believe she does have the Jillian Michaels build, it just doesn't show well in game.

I do agree about the horridness of the FemHawke animation. Her idle animations are fine by me, her run while weapons/mage staff are out are fine, but god when she runs without the weapon I feel like stabbing my eye!

As someone from the Nexus put it so aptly every female NPC looked like "they're high on drugs while running through a field of daisies."

I loved the male and female animations of ME1, they looked normal, the male soldier ran like a male soldier, sat like a male soldier and acted like a male soldier, FemShep looked/walked/ran/acted like a female soldier. While Hawke isn't a soldier -which is why I like the idle animations- she does look constipated, or like she really needs to use the bathroom, while she's running, but even that would require she'd have her hands balled in fists, since she'd flex her muscles...it doesn't make sense...

Her out-of-armor outfits are all generic body models, no more buff than any other female character wearing that base outfit model (regardless of its texture set).  And she very nearly has spaghetti arms in the Little Black Dress.  When she was in the dress, I expected to see some muscle definition in her arms like Ms. Michaels in the picture, but nope...
