I'm sure this will be an easy fix and I chalk it up to my lack of experience to gaming on a Mac.
I have a brand new MacBook Pro: 2.3 ghz intel core i7
running OSX 10.6.7

The core Dragon Age game instals fine and runs perfectly.
*My issue: All the Awakenings and DLC content packs installers run and say they are completed,

*however no DLC is listed in the in game download content page

*The Readme txt file says I should be able to select the DLC from this location to enable or disable it

*I did complete uninstals, followed by reinstalling... several times to no avail

*All content appears on my Bioware social account as having been activated

*this is not an authorization error

*I log into my account through the game and it connects but even after checking the option to download content from the account nothing happens. Shut downs, restarts, reinstalls.

* Tech support only gives me answers for the pc version with a DAUpdater and that is not found in my Terminal or docs.

Please help. Here is a screen shot:

This is a common problem on Windows machines. Have you tried these solutions? They are mostly for Windows, but some may apply to the Mac as well:

http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613

Here's the Mac general troubleshooting FAQ:

http://social.biowar...9/index/1657591

There is also an alternate solution a few posts down the thread which involves downloading and installing standalone versions of the DLC...

Firewall could be a problem, too.

I MIGHT have had the same problem in the past, but I ca't remember if or how I fixed it... it's been a long time since I installed my DLC...

Mavin: Thanks for your help and suggestions... tho none worked out.
It seems like the while my characters upload to the social network, the game is not receiving info, is there a way to force this to happen?
And it seems I should have been clearer from from the start Awakenings is a no show as well:(

Thanks again.

Here is a Copy and Paste of the DragonAge_1.log from my computer:

DA Download Manager (DADM) Restarting DADM HeartBeat!
DA Download Manager (DADM) OpenService failed (1060)

It seems to show that there is a failure in communication between the game and the Bioware social network, the OpenService failed and the control service did not connect. What can be done from Bioware/EA end to remedy this Service error?
What can I do from my end?

Let me first say that I'm not an expert. I can just tell from my own experiences...

Ok, your log looks exactly the same as my log looks when I am NOT logged in. (Except for the offers.xml part) Does the game tell you you're logged in? (bottom left corner on splash screen)

(I can use the DLC without logging in, since I have authorized them at least once by logging in. This I think generates the offers.xml file, which is used for playing when logged out.)

Are you sure the following ports are open and forwarded through your firewall and router (if you have one)?:

80 TCP+UDP
443 TCP
8000 TCP
8001 TCP+UDP
18081 UDP

Sorry man because of work I wasn't able to test out your suggestions until last night.
I am seriously thankful for your help in this frustrating issue.

So I made sure the firewall was turned off
And being unsure how to configure such specific things with my router, I turned off the wireless connection and connected directly to the modem via ethernet
I started the game, no changes.
I uninstalled, deleting every dragon age related item, reinstalled, no changes.
I'm really not sure what gives, the game presents every indication that the content is there, that its authorized by Bioware...
And because I think of it as DLC i didn't directly mention that Awakenings is not appearing as well, its not available through New Game or Other Campaigns.

Thanks again. This crap is taking my laughter away :-0

Sorry for being so late myself.

Seems to me the only option is now to contact support... (I know that sucks!)

Why does the UE annoys the gamers so much like that? Is it too much stuffs to cohere the contents together, or else? There were no such problems like that if we get the Standard Edition first and then install the other packs manually.

Has been puzzling me, too. The only comfort is that it hits Windows players as well, so it's not a usual half-hearted Mac conversion for a change. Usually, one should expect that a bundled one-in-all version should be working better that separate parts.

Yep. So that's why when the Ultimate Edition released, I was doubt whether I should buy it or not. So I hold my money and wait if there is any problem with the installation, and oops-see-daisy, a ton of Dragon Age fans posted a billions of words in the forum to complain about the faults in the installation. Till now I'm still holding up that money, perhaps I will check out someday when all of the faults encountered so far will be reduced as much as possible!!

I still don't get what they changed in UE. Some deep trouble with DRM for sure, which came to haunt them on the "Weekend of Doom", while I was able to happily go on playing while logged off, with my DD edition...

You might still be better off with buying the DLCs you want, and leaving the rest out. I'm planning to get Awakening and Witch Hunt, and that's it. (I already have Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, which came with the DD edition, and Return to Ostagar)

It's a lot of wasting money but (sigh) if that's the best we can do to play the game without any big problems, so be it.
