I wanna duel him 1 on 1 cause after earning his respect with my Blood Mage it would be a insult to decline the duel. What is the best way to go about fighting him? Does crushing prison work on him? Cause atm if i had Crushing prison it would do 800 dmg over 10 seconds. Not counting Hex of Torment if i get that also.

Btw, how does Crushing prison work in this game? Is it like the first one where it creates a energy field and once they leave it it goes to waste or is the enemy constantly surrounded by it till it wears?

Crushing prison works, but may miss. Typically, you can't stand toe to toe with the Arishok, so spells that hinder his movement and buy you time to get your spells and attacks off. This makes spells like:

Gravitic Ring
Horror
Glyph of Paralysis
Cone of Cold
Winter's Grasp

very effective against him, since mages typically go for a kiting strategy.

Kinda went primal blood/force mage since ppl say elemental isn't worth it besides the cold spells. Probably could afford to give my Blood Mage a couple cold spells won't have the mastery for brittle constantly but will have the nice dmg from them at least.

Crushing Prison is hit and miss.

I think the enemy is just dealt damage over time, and stunned/held if you have the upgrade. However, I think the Arishok is just slowed from Crushing Prison - not actually held.

However, Petrify always works on the Arishok as far as I'm aware ( Petrify - best spell in the game by far) and is pretty easy to get to in the Primal tree.

Just Petrify the Arishok, and you have about 5-6 seconds to wail on him with whatever you want. I tended to just kite him around between Petrify, but if you have the potions, you could do fancier stuff with Crushing Prison and your Force spells.

Also, yeah, avoid Elemental. It's all flash and little substance. Cone of Cold is a good spell, but it's not worth sinking the points into the tree for alone.
