was playing ME2 and i had a power cut..
when power was on again, i booted my pc, run the ME2 via steam
and i get this...
"Welcome
Welcome to Cerberus network activation. By activating Cerberus Network you can.. blah blah..
...
...To proceed you must log or create an EA online account
blah blah
...
...."

i press Continue and then another screen loads aand asks me to login
i enter my mail and password.
and then the worst surprise i could ever have:
the main menu loads and there's NO "resume" button.
i click "load game" and all i get is my ME1 character career button..
HEEEELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i also just checked my savegame folder at C:\\Users\\zweistein\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\Save
y saves are still there

i reconfigured the documentation
now the game recognized my saves
but ALL ACHIEVEMENTS ARE GONE....

restored my .prf profile files..
achievements not lost..

only (new) problem now is this....
every time i start the game i get a message saying that i lost communication with the cerberus server.. i press ok (theres no other button) and then the main menus loads and the cerberus network news wont show up....

Don't worry. It's typical Windows bug when there is power cut or quick reset while in game. Everything is lost, so it's good to make a backup. About the Cebrerus Network. I can't see much point in using it when it's not being updated by Bioware anymore.

ME2 refuses to connect with Cerberus network, when I start it, so when I try to load a saved game it tells me I can't, because these DLC's aren't enabled. I have to start the connection by hand, by inputing again my email and password. It accepts the connection this way, so I can play the game as I've ever done.
