Casey Hudson confirms that Shepard will at some point have a confrontation with ME: Retribution's Kai Leng. While this isn't shocking news as this has been somewhat already speculated for a while now, it is good to get a confirmation.

Hudson also announced that Commander Shepards built team from the second part of Mass Effect 3 has fallen apart.Moreover, he ties in Mass Effect 3 includes the battle to the prohumanistische Cerberus, the organization where Shepard in part two still worked. A character by that which Shepard has to deal with conflict is Kai Ling, an assassin with an aversion to aliens. He was previously addressed in Mass Effect: Retribution, the third book on the Mass Effect universe.Another character that makes its appearance in Mass Effect 3, James Sanders, a muscular man who "looks like a football player on steroids diet," says Chief.

All that article says is that Shep will encounter Kai Leng at some point.  Whether he's "leading" the effort or not is speculation.  Reasonable speculation, but speculation nonetheless.

He put Anderson in a moral, Mass Effect-like dilemma, capture Leng or have the kid Nick Donahue bleed out by Leng's gunshot to the stomach.  Anderson chose saving Nick.

He still shot Leng in the legs after he took off though.

No, the image was not captioned at all.  There just happened to be a sidebar (and one that was set apart with a different background color and fonts like all the sidebars) on that same page about Sanders. That image was grouped with the main article's "Know Your Enemy" section.

WRONG!

The James Sanders bit has it's own section on the bottom left corner of page 58 in a red box. The proposed Kai Leng photo is in the section that is titled "Know your Enemy" right above the James Sanders red box.
