So I have a few questions about runes here:

1) Rune of Devastation-- only one will apply per character, right? Putting one on each dagger would be a waste of a rune? Is the Low Blade only supposed to get a 6% bonus out of it? (staves and bows and warrior weapons all get 8 or 10%)

2) Rune of Striking-- is a 4% bonus to critical chance that useful? Is it better than an elemental damage rune? Will multiple Runes of Striking stack?

3) Rune of Spirit-- what does spirit damage do, exactly? I've read it lowers damage resistance and magic resistance. Is that only for the intent of calculating the spirit damage, or does that apply to all damage done to the target for a period of time?

4) As a general question, what weapon/armor runes are "best" for a dual wielder? For that matter, what weapons? Or are those too vague of questions because they depend on this and that and etc.

I was thinking, weapons: Primeval and Devastation on the Low Blade, and ??? on Finesse. (Striking? Spirit?)

Armor: Valiance on the Champion gloves and ??? on the other Champion items. (Maybe Fire Resist, Protection)

3)Spirit - Will cut damage and magic resistance by 50%. This does not include Spirit Resistance.

You have Aveline near a walking bomb infected target with Upgraded Aegis Shield and upgraded Stone wall.

The incoming damage will be cut by 60%. The remaining 40% will hit and be reduced by 50%, not 100%, because of Spirit damage's effect vs damage resistance. Leaving 20% to hit Aveline.

1. Depends on the "level" of the weapon.
2. Yes.
3. Spirit damage calculates by temporarily halving damage and magic resistances.
4. Frost until Spirit, then Spirit until Devastation/Primeval.

So it only pierces resistances for the purposes of the damage it does, then. It doesn't debuff the target like, say, Hex of Torment does.
