Still keep getting game crashes via the error "Display Driver has
stopped responding". Ever since I updated to Catalyst 11.4 from 11.2, it's gone
from BSODing to CoDing.

Is it because Radeon HD 4890 1GB is that out of date, or is it because I have 2 of 'em running Crossfire?

Oh yes....and before anyone asks, I've tried disabling Crossfire, taking the other card out, and the peak temp I've seen it hit is 165F

What's that Centigrade? Anyway, you've got three softwares that must work with one another to display the graphics, and it only starts with the Video Driver. You must also have a clean copy of Dx9, since Dx10 and Dx11 are not completely backwards compatible in all regards.

Last, of course, the game must all be in pristine condition, no corrupted files in its graphics sections. Crossfire adds so many complications, I would never use it, myself.

165F ~= 71.6C

Average temp when running DA2 or when running any other game is 158F which = 70C

I'll try running it in Dx9. If that doesn't work, I'll try lowering the graphics bit by bit. If that doesn't fix it......

Well, after wiping the 11.4 drivers, going to 11.3, turning off Crossfire, then going to Dx9, the game still freezes, but manages to recover from its time out

Seems that every time this happens is when I'm in a battle anywhere in Kirkwall and more enemies spawn. It's like the video card can't keep up and times out and either crashes or (now apparently) recovers.

When running the Radeon HD 3870 in some games, it's been necessary to literally downclock that one to a slower core speed and VRAM speed. You may want to try slowing your card down some to see if it helps. The Geforces have that problem, in spades, running this game.

Well, after unlocking the cards (which took ~45 seconds of me saying to myself "Please don't screw up please don't screw up) and cutting the main card's GPU & clock roughly in half, I only had one freeze in a 90 minute session. Before, I would get about 7-12 freezes.

At least this slowing the card down doesn't seem to be affecting any other game I play.
