Are the geth a romance?

And if not, can they be made a romance?

The real question is,  if you romance a geth... is it an orgy?

The Quarians created the Geth for labor. Fair enough, the Geth were simple creatures without any hint of awareness.

Then the Quarians made them smarter to deal with more complex tasks, because hey, making them do all their simple tasks that Quarians could probably do themselves wasn't lazy enough.

The Geth developed awareness and came to realize themselves and their situation.

The Quarians realized this. Instead of reacting with wonderment that they had created an entirely new species, new "life" - what did they do? Try to destroy their slave force because they'd developed free will and awareness.

The Geth fought back to survive and won.

Yes, the Quarians situation is a sad one, but it's self made. Apparently their home world is still a mess, and hey! The Geth are busy fixing it for the Quarian's eventual return. Why would they do that for people who tried to wipe them out just for existing?

Conclusion: The Geth are more compassionate than any organic race will ever be.

I find it sad that the whole Geth situation is biased.

The whole situation is biased? All of it? What situation? How is it biased?

Well said, I hope there is a way to resolve the conflict in ME3.  I completely support the geth as the main fleet of geth support Shepard.

Typical commie quarian. I  dont think you understand what that word means, I think the word you are looking for is "ironic" for example, "I find the quarians being banished from their home world for enslaving a entire species ironic." :devil:

Biased? Telling something it doesn't have a soul when it's aware enough to ponder the question is bad form. The Quarians screwed up man, I can understand their reason for fear... but you know what? I can understand the Geth fighting back more so than that simple crisis of faith the Quarians had.

If you ask me, the story makes the geth look like the good guys who can do no wrong.

I think that is not true.

It doesn't really, though. People are just selective with the details they recall. Such as, for example, the geth murdering billions of quarians who had nothing to do with trying to shut them down.

How many quarian children were killed in their cribs by newly awakened and completely amoral geth? Oh, doesn't matter, the transgressions of the few indict an entire race. All quarians were guilty, and deserved death. Even the infants.

I'm willing to bet the Geth survived partly because of their increased intelligence in numbers, and also their lack of understanding in emotion.

They would have no problems in doing absolutely anything to survive. Killing young or Quarians in general? Stunts the Quarian numbers so they have more time to get away, find somewhere and build their defenses.

@AngelicMachinery
Exactly that! You'd think if something asked you if it has a soul you would be interested that it pondered such a thing in the first place. It thought about the nature of a soul and if it had one.

No.

It paints both geth and quarians in a sympathic light.

@marshalleck I made a thread about this a while ago, and quite a few said that it was more than likely not the geth who were responsible for the quarian deaths.

That is probably the reason her name is Xen, yes. Bioware isn't very subtle.

That's difficult to answer,  I myself see the geth as Aliens but some might disagree.  It gets even tougher if you ponder if the Quarians could consider geth aliens.

@thatguy212 I know.

And I'm wondering why some would say she's xenophobic, I don't see anything like that.
