Bioware, I do not support geth, I do not like them, I abhor them.

How is Admiral Xen afraid of aliens?

If not a Xenophobe certainly a "Complete Monster" type. She views Geth as little more than machinery, tools to be used, and thinks nothing of taking them apart; regardless of them being totally aware of it at the time.

Imagine being rended motionless, voiceless, unable to respond, but knowing exactly what is happening as you are steadily dismantled, your limbs coming away until they finally give you a release from that hell.

Only to wake you up later.

That's difficult to answer,  I myself see the geth as Aliens but some might disagree.  It gets even tougher if you ponder if the Quarians could consider geth aliens.

Xenophobia doesn't just mean "doesn't like ACE SPALIENS".  It doesn't actually mean that at all, given we've yet to meet any.  Generally refers to foreigners or strangers, with their attendant culture/politics/etc.  That said, I still don't think Xen really qualifies.  She doesn't even view the geth as truly "real" people at all, and is actually rather fascinated by them.

Yes, geth are machinery.

Geth do not feel the way organics do.

Oh, sure. Give Xen an army of synthetic killing machines.

That cannot possibly go wrong.

To a biological person, this would be most unsettling. To a machine...:? I'm not saying its okay, but its not the hell it would be for someone tied to emotions.

Don't take that for it not having any effect on them.

Having Legion on your team dismisses any arguements that Geth cannot "feel" as we do. There are several times where Legion becomes distressed and unsettled when faced with unpleasant knowledge. His reaction is little different from an organic.

That shows that Geth have the capacity to understand and feel the way we do, if we're not to busy stereotyping and killing them to slow their progress of understanding.

True, but different machines nonetheless.

@mrsph I'm not saying that Xen would make the best decision, but she isn't COMPLETELY crazy......

I don't understand Geth hate, they're the most peaceful race out there.

Not really.
After the Morning War (a war where they wiped out billions of inoccent men, women and children) they isolated themselves and attacked and destroyed anyone who came near them

That doesn't sound very peaceful

It's still their form being destroyed and restricted. They're being erased, corrupted as connections in their platform are lost, chaos is erupting in their system as more and more "voices/minds" are lost.

Legion itself also doesn't guarantee long term peace with organics. If he's brought along to Tali's recruitment mission he tells her "we do not plan to attack the creators at this time".

Morning War = Survival from their oppressive "makers." I'm not excusing them, just pointing out the Quarians were in the wrong there.

And they attack people who come near them because generally, those who go near them are shooting.

TALI herself calls Xen insane. And Tali hates Geth, yet she disagrees with Xen.

What does that tell you?

Slightly different:  "We do not intend physical harm to the creators at this time."

Also, I'm pretty sure Legion was speaking for itself only, given that's what Tali was worried about at that particular moment.

Yes, those billions of inoccents who had no involvement in the choice to shut down the geth were all in the wrong and deserved to die.

And they attack people who come near them because generally, those who go near them are shooting.

That is an assumption.
All we know is that "any ships that ventured into geth space were immediately attacked and destroyed".
They could have been entirely unaware they were even in geth territory.

Sure, yes, of course. That's totally what I said.

"I'm not excusing them."

See that? Those words mean I note that horrible things that happened during the Morning War. But it goes both ways. The Geth did not start the war, the Quarians made the first strike for fear of losing their suddenly self-aware slaves.

At the time the Geth were not tied by emotion, let's assume that anyway, so there would be no logic in attacking the Quarians if they just let the Geth go free.

They'd just have to go back to picking up sh*t for themselves.
