Its real simple if you do not want to wear just use the N7 armor in 3 but I do not want to worry about some stupid toggle.

Then don't use it. Problem solved. But, for those of us that want to wear like the Blood Dragon Armor, the ability to not have the all-encompassing helmet on would be nice.

Liara that has no way to know it's Shepard behind the mask
: OH HAI SHEPARD!!

Shepard: Um... I am wearing a helmet completely obscuring my face.. how do you know it's me?

Liara: I'm psychic!

Shepard: AH, yeah. Makes sense. Though, what about everyone else that's recognized me even with this helmet on?

Liara: I foresaw your encounter with everyone and told them exactly where and when they'd meet you and how to react so as to make it seem as though they recognize you even though it would be impossible for them to do so.

*Liara kisses and licks the helmet, mmmm blood from last fight... tasty*

If they are indeed prioritizing game features and changes based on feedback like Hudson said in the Gameinformer interview, I'm sure the toggle helmet issue will be fixed because of the OVERWHELMING feedback. People were spitting nails after seeing Shep drink with the Cerberus armor.

the cerberus armor was nice but when people realized they could not take off the helmet that sure caused a scandal

I'd give this thread 5 stars again if I could.

1. So everyone who wants see Shepards face should be restricted to 1 type of armor?  Sure, it's cusomizable, but we're still missing out on some of the coolest armors in the game (inferno armor, cerberus, etc)

2. You 'do not want to worry' about a toggle button? Theres literally nothing that you would have to worry about. You can ignore that button for your entire playthrough and pretend like it didn't exist if it bothers you that much. But, if you're like most people and enjoy seeing a characters actuall face, then it's there if you want to use it.

That's actually why its so puzzling to me that helmet toggle was taken out of ME2. It's not something that anybody ever complained about, and it never hurt the game in any way by having it in there. It's just something that's there if you want to use it.

Helmets/ visors should be selected in the armor locker as usual, but selection should be toggle-able on/off on the fly for everyone like it was in ME1. A set of armor and weapons lockers for Shep and squad should be in the airlock so we don't have to go to 3 different location to change out this stuff. We need a dedicated hairstyle and a jewelry slider so our femshep (or male sheps?) can change our look while on the ship (Would have been nice to put some earrings on for Donovan Hock's party etc.). Maybe a separate locker for casual outfits do to the extra sliders? Hair style while wearing armor will default to one that dosn't cause clipping with the armor/helmet.

Seeing Shepard pucker up with Liara or Ashley while wearing the blood dragon armour (or any other helmet) was somewhat rediculous. I'm not sure how much trouble they want to go through for this. Its a small part of the game but does add to immersion. You could do the DAO thing and have every converstaion and cutscene have a flag saying whether or not the helmet should be present which is more realistic.

Of course other people want to see Sheps face while still retaining the stat bonus for a helmet. Having a permanent helmet toggle will satisfy them while drawing complaints from others about realism. Or you could have a combination of the two.

Either way it is a rather unimportant issue to me. Nice to resolve, but is unlikely to alter my enjoyment of the game to a noticeable degree.

Should be able to choose which helmet Shepard should use in case he runs into some vacuum too.

The only reason I ever wore the visors and never donned any of the cool inferno or cerberus armors was because I wanted to see my character's facial expressions when interacting with characters. I have no idea why they left it out of ME2, but I do hope they bring the toggle helmet back to ME3! Or else it looks like I'll be playing the entire game without the cool armors again.

Away with those stupid breather bubbles that don't protect the eyes from acid air or ears from vacuum...
Helmets for everyone!

And togglable for when you're running around in a hub and want to see your face when you're talking and hell... if you buy a drink it goes in your mouth, instead of colliding with your helmet.

Fortunately at least my ME2 Sheps have little issue thanks to visors, but not everyone likes the visor... and Shep is only one member of the team.
Like I said... breather bubbles are a blight on galactic purity.

Yeah! Go run all the way back to your ship, leave the docking bay, fly off in to space, watch the loading screen, "No messages Commander", go in the elevator, watch the loading screen, feed your fish, set your armor so you won't put your helmet on the next time you leave, listen to hamster sound, get in elevator, loading screen, "No messages Commander", discover you're mysteriously at the planet on the opposite side of the star system and fly back to the hub world... go in to orbit, fly in, land, pick squad...

No sweat.
I don't know why people complain.

I still think collapsible helmets is the way to go. No switching at all. That stuff is automatic.

They have six months to make armors that helmets that can be toggled off.

We'll see.

Helmet toggle is needed. I don't always want to wear my helmet, but if it is needed (outside in space, on hegalaz, etc) I want it to revert to MY CHOSEN HELMET, not just the N7 helmet.

This is exactley why i propose to go out the airlock for away missions like we did in ME1 where there can be lockers to make these changes quicker. Better workfow this way. I Hate flying to a new system, only to leave the galaxy map to go up to my cabin to take my hemet off, then go back to the galaxy map and launch the mission. Put the gun and armor lockers in the airlock where they should be.
