Here is the jist of what happened:
Half a year after my cousin Alex created his youtube account and created the "required" gmail account and then linked “to another account” (he choose his yahoo account). Please note his Y.T. & Yahoo account didn't show his name nor his email after he set them up. He was there daily and had post a few videos (3 I think) [I think he had a combined 342 views on his vids] I believe most were probably friends and family.
Up till two days ago all was fine, then he began to get spam from people he didn’t know. As of today his email account has been completely hijacked and has been terminated for violations of terms of service! Charges on his credit card that he swears the he didn’t make has also been charged to him! Luckily that didn’t get further out of hand (charges verified as not being legit via Life-Lock). He has deleted his YT account and created another yahoo email and says he is going no where near youtube/google ever again!
I have delinked my YT account from my email to be safe. (Done by deselecting the active email in options and refreshing the page) Until more is known and to be safe if it was YT and Google.
Is he correct in his thinking to avoid Google and YT?
