Me it is more the game play, the shooting and froinlaven.

Gameplay in a rpg,the replay value of it are the options to build a character(main character and teammembers). While the first game already was a rpg light, the second game is a farce in this regard.
Especially teammembers with 3 active powers at best.(ammo isnt a power)
And the soldier basicly only has bullet time and grenade shot.

I disagree with your assessment of what makes a RPG's gameplay.  Character building is one factor sure, but it is low on my list of priorities for a RPG's replayability.

Mass Effect 2 was a bridge between 1 and 3.

calling ME2 "just a bridge" is only an excuse to why its such a crappy game. if ME1 never existed, what exactly is the point of ME2? more so, if ME3 negates everything i did in ME2 with retcons and easily replaced squadmates, then again what is the point of ME2?

Contrary to your initial assertion,
the above isn't remotely a reason as to why ME2 doesn't have a story.
The above doesn't actually qualify as point, as it's essentially a
rambling passage of dislike  which makes multiple baseless assertions,
hilariously unjustified comparisons and general gibberish ( i mean,
present the 'dirty dozen' formula to any author and they'll laugh?
Precisely how did the actual Dirty Dozen story was then made a film, in
that case?)

It's pretty clear you disliked the story. That's
fine, if you choose to dislike it, that's up to you. I don't agree with
your criteria that you're judging it by but if you want to look like
you're *trying* to hate it, that's your business.

However,
claiming that there is *no* story whatsoever is a straightforward point.
It indicates an absence of a storyline. If such a situation were true
then the object of all that spleen-venting of yours above doesn't exist.

There is a storyline in ME2. It's self-evident. Whether you
like it or not doesn't change the fact that it's there, and I'm afraid
such a point is true no matter how huge your ego is.

So I stand
by Phaedron's original point: The assertion that there is no storyline
whatsoever is a statement of unmitigated nonsense.

so then what is ME2s story if not a bunch of sidequests? go ahead fill me in on what exactly i was doing storywise in ME2.

basically, i agree with AHGLOCK.

The whole point of ME2's story is that the reapers are not HERE yet. What the hell is Shepard going to do, file papers in an alliance office? Going around blowing up geth the entire game and trying to find evidence about the reapers can be just as boring... since maybe all of the evidence is right there already and all has been found by shepard via the beacons. It's good to not go indepth when explaining the Reapers, because it will completely ruin their Lovecraftian nature. Their theme is the Unknowing, and they should remain unknowable even throughout ME3.
So yes, it is completely valid and necessary for ME2 to not have a directly driven plot, because all shepard can do is wait for the inevitable return of the Reapers while foiling their plans to gain instant access to the galaxy in the process.

I personally loved the game !!  I've never played a game like this (shooter/action/RPG) and was totally captivated by the game, I couldn't stop playing.  I downloaded the game because it was a DA2 bonus promotion, and I got so bored with DA2 that I decided to try something new.  I probably won't play the Dragon Age series anymore and am really looking forward to ME3.

However I didn't really care for the camera angles, if your suppose to coordinate your teams placement it would be helpful if you could get an ariel view of the battlefield and sometimes a team member would stand in front of me and I couldn't see anything. I didn't care for the AI of the team, sometimes under fire a team member would take off and I wouldn't know where they went and they wouldn't respond when I called them back to me, although it wasn't a game breaker.  I'm not sure why a team member would stand up and not take cover when gettting shot at and alot of times they didn't respond to my placement orders.  I had some problems with the Audio after I downloaded most of the DLC's (although it was a small price to pay for the "awesomeness" of the DLC's).  I would have liked a little more LI dialogue, once you set the LI you don't get any different responce till the end.  I didn't really like the responce time of my character, sometimes when I tried to use med-gel it didn't work or he/she would get hung-up on something and wouldn't move or get blocked because one of the team would not move.  I didn't like the part when 2 of the team got into an arguement and if you sided with one the other would never speak to you again and I couldn't find a way to get them back to being loyal again, so any upgrades they might have been able to provide were lost.  I didn't like that with a such big ship there really wasn't many crew members, alot of open seats and spaces, those open seats should have not even been in the design, it made the ship look half empty.

I've played the game through twice now, once as a male soldier and once as a female infiltrator and I can see many more playthroughs.

I loved the exploration, being able to buy maps to open new areas and not have to download them as a DLC.  I also loved the pace of the game, there are a couple missions where my hands were shaking when I got done, totally awesome.  I liked the scanning for resources part as well, it was a nice break from missions and being able to find side-quests was a clever implementation. I liked that you could change the appreance of the team members "armor" when they became loyal to you and the armor change available with a DLC.  I also liked being able to continue to play even after the final mission and being able to start a new game with the same character at his/her current level.

All in all I loved the game, even with the few things that I disliked.
