I've been reading here for a few days trying to figure out a solution to this problem that I've had since installing the game (brought the Ultimate Collectors edition through Origin last month, patched it to version 1.02, and running on 32-bit Windows 7 Pro with a Billion wireless modem-router).

I'd disabled the whats-it's-name thingy in Windows, made sure that the software firewall and antivirus were allowing it to play, and most of the other easy things I could think of or were suggested here. In my case the fix has involved going into the modem/router settings and temporarily disabling the firewall there too. That did the trick! Re-enabling the hardware firewall recreated the problem too, so it seems pretty likely that the two are connected.

I'm in e-mail contact with a rep from EA, and waiting to find out what what I need to open in the way of ports to allow this to be a more permanent but less completely open solution.

hi all

try this one, this worked for me (got it from another website)
1. Start the game.
2. Go to Extras->Options->Online and set Auto Login to EA Online to No.
3. Exit the game.
4. Restart the game.
5. Manually connect to EA Online.
6. Go to Extras->Options->Online and set Auto Login to EA Online to Yes.
7. Exit the game again. Auto-login should work from now on.

solution is only for when you have to manually log in to Cerberus network every time you load the game. (game installed on PC via DVD disc).

if it doesnt work, sorry.
If it does, :)

Let me guess: it worked for about a half an hour before the connection timed out, and now you're back to square one?

This clearly needs to be fixed at EA's end, not ours. I know nothing changed in my setup between it working perfectly day after day to timing out every time I start up the game. Anyone who has had success with the solutions on these pages or others then more power to you (and I hope that it continues to work for you, rather than failing again after the next reboot).
Fingers crossed that someone at EA decides to read a thread on one of their older products for a change....
In the interim, do bear in mind that once your DLC is registered you don't need to keep logging in, so until/unless you buy anything new, just switch off auto login and play the game.

I honestly think that pretty much anyone who said they had success said that in the rapturous half-hour where it works before forgetting your autologin info again.

I created a question at Answer HQ by changing the original message a bit.
http://answers.ea.co...error/m-p/48772

Maybe someone over there will be able to help us.

Solution is here!!
After some lengthy discussions with an EA tech (who could not help me) I came upon this post

http://social.biowar...index/2845006/2

next to last reply states that your BSN password should not contain any special characters...
tried this out (by changing my Origin/EA password) and guess what?

BAM! I'm in the Cerberus NW again and can claim my DLC...

Pretty messed up... they should crosscheck their password requirements at EA/Bioware and have them align to one another...

Hope this will help others. Sneaky!!

Wow. This just worked for me!  I previously included special characters like - and *, then I changed my EA/Origin password without said characters and success! I can finally log into Cerberus Network to authorise my DLC.

Thanks for the tip Ouroboros69!
