DLC playable on second run through?

I have read in other posts that people have had problems with the fact that our DLC is not useable after the first time the game has been played through.  Can anyone confirm this? I would hate to have gone through and potentially wasted my time and money downloading the content.

ive gone through the game once and am far into my second run through, my dlc is just fine
