Imagine: A big, epic FPS Action game set during the First Contact War. Kind of like Halo, but with a much better story.

Honestly I would love to see the First Contact War be more fleshed out in a game/movie/comic. It's a really interesting story and I'd like to see first hand how it all went down.

There was a whole thread a little while ago for an imagined Mass Effect: Origins.

I'd like that.

FPS/RPG a la Deus Ex.
With coop.

BUT NO, NO NO TO AN MMO!!!
Besides, I don't think it would be commercially viable as an mmo. I mean, there are already plenty of mmo's out there, and Mass Effect fans in general are not likely to change their gaming habits to adapt to an mmo> paying monthly and all that crap...

I'm not a big fan of MMOs either. They get old fast, because it all comes down to grinding and looting.

what i dont want to see

MMOs - swtor is enough,
RTS ( unless its some kind of space civ game)

A team-based FPS the likes of Ghost Recon telling Garrus's story starting from the SR-1's destruction to his recruitment on ME2 would be cool.

It'd be a little more realistic than ME2, with powers having less of an impact, enemies being more deadly, and with a gameplay concentrating on using guerilla tactics and stealth to overcome the opposition to represent Garrus's keen tactical genius.

An FPS for a nice, forward game. Perhaps an MMO too. I don't know, honestly this question is pretty hard because I think ME has to be in the best genre it could possibly be in.

Some people have expressed that they wouldn' t like a ME mmo. I wish we could keep all these threads together but that may be hard to do. Either way I am bringing this thread back so fans can see the older comments and add there own.

Turn-based strategy. Can't stand RTS.

Oh it could be in the same style as Jagged Alliance 2, now that would be awesome. Of course with "Tons of Guns" enabled. I still feel like this is a type of game that has a lot of potential, but nobody is actually willing to make that kind of game anymore.

I think it should be set a few hundred years after ME3, so teh choices made by mr Shepard doesn't matter much, and Bioware can avoid answering them in teh new installment, ok. Maybe a third person shooter MMO. You'd have your own spaceship, upgrades, customization etc, and huge planets, which ye could travel with yer vehicle and explore and shot others, like in the Red Read Redemption, but with quests and lol! it wouold be epic

maybe after the reaper destruction/banishment/w/e after ME3, tensions rise between humans and turians, and other species become teh neutral. it would be like vanilla wow, when factions aren't openly at war against each other, but people still go about adn kill stuff

didnt think bout it till someone mentioned it in another topic...the epic fail. but a Brother's in Arms: Hell Highway style game would be the ultimate. single player or co-op only. the multiplayer was terrible.

is that considered a tactical shooter?

a game in the style of Zeonic Front would be cool too. that simulation deal...but might be tough with so few people. teams!! okay..so it would be like the original Ghost Recon. set waypoints for the other teams to follow...or control each yourself. yeah!!

turned based strategy is a GREAT IDEA!!!!

Or maybe, maybe, a Left4Dead style game, during the Reaper invasion of Earth you try and survive waves of husks and stuff with yer party. Sometimes you'd see a reaper descending from the sky and you'd have to get the hell out of there fast, probably with some sort of transportation.

Maybe it could be semi-MMO, with large servers, and sessions/games lasting many hours, possibly days. The map would be about as large as half a continent in WoW, and cities and terretories would periodically be destroyed/overrun by reapers/husks. After several hours, only a few cities remain and if you could survive the whole time, you get a few rewards, and stuff, and the game ends/starts again. you could play on harder difficulty servers, and you get rewards ye can buy, vehicles etc.

since the games would last hours, possibly days, you would be able to log out and log in to the same game, ok, hopefully the town you logged out of isn't destroyed, best idea ever?!!

I think Garrus is one of the stronger or more loved characters that most fans would enjoy playing as. He is the least complained about. What about a Co-Op RPG with a limited number of players say three where there is live player interaction. I always wanted the ability for a live player to take control of squad mates in ME. Three player co-op in a story based open world RPG. Maybe that is too gears like? Crackdown came up in the GameInformer Q&A, I am a huge fan of the first game. I was in love with Pacific city. I hope the CItadel can be fleshed out with that level of detail.

I want a Rockstar style open world game with limited multiplayer based heavily on Omega and the Citadel.
