If Mass Effect 4 had to be a different game genre, what would you prefer ?

A fighting game.

I have a few ideas for fatalities.

Shepard: A renegade interrupt symbol appears on the screen before Shepard shouts "I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions!" And punches off the victim's head.

Shiala: She seizes her victim, clamps their mouth with her mouth tentacles, forces thorian spores down their throat, and vines explode out of her victim's chest.

Garrus: Kicks his victim in the crotch and the victim falls to to their knees, and than garrus executes the victim with his sniper rifle before leaping into the air shouting "impressive!"

Mordin: Ejects his victim with a syringe filled with a flesh eating virus, and the victim liquifies.

Morinth: Says "embrace eternity" before melding minds, and her victim claws at their face and screams before their head explodes.

Grunt: Headbutts his victim with a sickening crack, and finishes them off with his shotgun.

Except for Mordin's, those could all be genuine :P

Well obviously we need some type of fighting game featuring Mass Effect characters. An EA fighting game maybe? Other companies have their own version. Unreal tournament? Super Smash Bros? EA Mosh Pit?

Wing commander privateer? Man that would be awesome. I looooved that game. You could be a pirate, a merchant, or a merc, all dependent on how you played rather than having set paths to follow.

Would work excellent for the ME universe.

Can you imagine an RTS based around the Rachni wars? Or the krogan rebellions? Talk about some epic battles. I'd love to see it.

Stealth action game with the stealth mechanics of Metal Gear and Splinter Cell and the melee combat of Batman: Arkham Asylum/City.

Some sort of planet building colonisation strategy game. But to be honest I would just prefer a new singleplayer storyline with shooter/rpg hybrid gameplay.

Maybe coop and cross-platform like Portal 2?

I really like being able to play with my friends who are on PS3.

I would love a squad-based shooter ala republic commando's system. Would be great to be part of an actual military with a set story and rules, where choices matter in game rather than story.

Hell any type of game could work in the ME universe. Even racing if they so choose.

I'd like to see bioware make a Total Conversion plugin of the Mass Effect setting for Escape Velocity: Nova, and a set of Custom Maps for Starcraft II of the First Contact War.

I would only accept a RTS spin off. And only if it was done to the quality of the Total War game series. But honestly I could never see a ME game as anything other than a TPS RPG at this point.

FPS? Maybe. Only if story is still a major focus.
RTS? It could work, sure, but they'd have to take it seriously. If they refuse to innovate or advance the lore, I won't buy it.
MMO? An incredibly expensive undertaking, but it would make sense given the scope of the universe.

If it were my decision, it'd be either a space sim (ala Privateer/Freelancer) or a sandbox-style RPG (Oblivion, Fallout). Both genres promote exploration and experimentation. Also, they do not require a strong central plot to function well.

Undoubtedly, no matter what form the game took, it would be overshadowed by its predecessor. Any attempt to rival the original trilogy's sense of scale (as far as plot is concerned) would likely result in a train wreck.

Start fresh and start small. Focus on gameplay and build upon the established lore. Think laterally, not vertically. Future installments need not surpass their predecessors every time.

You know, something like Star Wars Battlefront crossed with some sort of RTS thing would be kinda cool. That way you can play all the big battles in ME history without it affecting canon

It wouldn't necessarily have to be "the big battles in ME history." At most, some of the battles in Battlefront 1 and 2 only bore similarities to some of those in the movies. Most of them were completely unrelated.

I don't blame you. As much as I love the Mass Effect games, they still leave me longing for a classis RPG, minus the medieval setting.

Mass Effect: Uncharted worlds
ME game that plays similar to Uncharted series. Worlds can be climbed, traversed and environments are lush and populated like in Uncharted. Co-Op is possible, Multiplayer mode is included.
Game has weather

Customizable bodies
Better customization for hair and facial features

I couldn't agree more.

The facial customization established with Mass Effect 1 was great, but I think they perfected it with Dragon Age: Origins. Like I'm sure a lot of people do, I like to try to make my male human characters look like me. With my ME 1 and 2 characters, I couldn't even get close. With my Dragon Age:Origins character, I think I did pretty good; my avatar is that very character.
