 Okay. So the other day I imported one of my many Mass Effect 1 saves into Mass Effect 2 in order to woo Garrus to the end of the game come Mass Effect 3 (hopefully). The character I imported hadn't romanced anyone, so I figured she was perfect to avoid any issues with dear Kaidan Alenko.

I'm about halfway through the game, and I can't get passed the 'Reach and Flexibility' conversation. It won't give me the option to flirt with him. 



He's loyal, I finished his mission, he spared Sidonis. I didn't recruit him in Mass Effect 1, because I wanted to mess around with all sorts of options and possibilities. I don't know if that's the reason why I can't get this dialogue option or...?

This is the only conversation I get with him. The only other things we can talk about are his work with C-Sec
 and his estimation of our chances. I've restarted the game, tried to see what might be wrong, but nothing works. 

Do I have to start the game over? I'd really rather not, seeing as I'm about to go get Legion. Any ideas as to what might be the issue here?

Did you make sure you chose all the correct options when speaking to him? If that's the case, maybe you need to have recruited him in ME1. I recruited him anyway, because Turians are awesome.

You said he spared Sidonis? That's probably why. I romanced him on one of my femSheps, but she helped him kill Sidonis, try killing him, see if that helps.

I'm pretty sure you can either kill or spare Sidonis.

However, it is possible to lose his loyalty if you spare Sidonis and don't give him a good reason why. It's possible he is not romanceable if he is not loyal.
