Merrill 'Bugged' if your a mage?

I'm playing the second time through as a mage, but no matter what I do, I get negative numbers heading toward rivalry. Is this normal or a bug?

Didn't have problem getting positive relationship points with Merrill when playing a mage. If you're getting that while picking lines which should give positive reaction, that may be a bug o.O

Did you take her eluvion tool? You are stuck on the rivalry path if you do.

Hmm...after I got it from their leader I gave it to her. Same thing I did when I was a warrior and there was a romance option. Weird. Must have done something to tick her off...lol.
