I have the Helmet of the Champion, and the Boots of the Champion; however, I cannot remember where I got them. Where, please, can I find the gloves and torso / brestplate "of the Champion"? Thanks.

The Torso is obtained from the High Dragon, and you start out with the gloves in Act III.
The boots are on Huon the creepy elf when your doing "On the Loose" Where you capture 3 apostates. The Helmet is on Grace, from "Best Served Cold". Which I believe is right after "On the Loose"

I want the gloves and torso to fight the High Dragon. 
Act III is the ending sequence, right, so I have to fight the dragon without a complete set of super duper armor? Or did I sell the gloves somewhere?

You start act 3 with the Gloves of The Champion. Sounds like you may have accidentally sold them off...
