Im playing Dragon Age Orgins - Ultimate Edition.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I turned the over clocking off, all drivers are up to date, tried setting it down to 1 core, lowered the settings to low, anti-aliasing off, blood off, auto-screenshot option is off..any other ideas? The strage thing is...my husband has the same rig as I do, yet his crash's allot less then mine (and he can run his at full!). The only difference is I have the extra content and he does not. (Possible cause for more crash's?). And also - he is running Windows 7....

As for the type of crash - sometimes, it freezes. Sometimes, the graphics get all messed up then it crash's. Sometimes, the game will take me back to the desktop with an error...occasionally - have to do a hard restart.  His crash's are the same in nature. They are random, and have no set place, time, or doing. Could run into a pool of darkspawn and have it crash, or could be running down a empty street.

EA or Bioware or whoever I talked to on the phone has yet to come up with a solution, so wondering if the community has any ingenious ideas or solutions that have worked for them? Its kinda fustrating playing on low all the time and watching alistars face turn all splotty. lol

Also - if someone can tell me how to post screenshots - will gladly show pictures of whats going on....

Edit - Since Ive been tinkering around with mods - it has been more stable (?) Added a hairmod and pineapple color mod......odd. But mainly think its dumb luck.

First, thanks for the complete report. Can I assume you have Vista patched to SP2?

Beyond that, I had a similar problem with Win 7 and found that my graphics driver was acting buggy. You can try to do a full-blown, clean uninstall/reinstall in safe mode... there's a how to guide I got from a Win 7 tech site linked below in my sig.

EDIT:  Using a third-party app to monitor your hardware temps may alternately reveal something.  I've found CPUID's HW Monitor (the free version) works well.
