Right I have searched and searched and tried everything possible yet I stil cannot get DA2 to play from the launcher.

After my initial install i does the date check thing, and seems to succeed, but the game never opens. After that any time I try to play the game, it just wont open. Watching my processes DA2 does open for a few seconds after I click play but nothing happens and after about 5 seconds it disapears from processes.

I have seen the solutions on the forums but nothing worked. I installed the game several times with and without AVG, I tried every possible combination of configuration (including using only DX9) I have installed patch 1.0.2. I am also on a Admin account so no permission issues, I also atempted to 'run as admin' with no luck. I have the most up to date graphics drivers as well, I am using a Ati Radeon Mobility 4650 HD with the most up to date Ati Catalyst (11.4, was using 11.3 prior).

Is there any fix to this (checked http://social.biowar...0/index/6442590 already) or I am I stuck with a game that wont play?

You are stuck with a game that wont play.
I, and a lot of others, have the same issue. Welcome to the team.
It seems that they are setting this as one of the lower priorities and it MAY be addressed in the next patch.
Save yourself from lots of grief,..just check back here once a week,..you wont get answers here, well,..not the ones you want anyway.
Sorry bud, and again,...welcome to the club.

I was thinking: since Bioware has us stuck with a game that we paid 60$ or more for (I even bought it in December last year), they could compensate us by giving us a Beta key to test Star Wars: The Old Republic. : )

Thanks 'Noahsdadiscool'. I have Mass Effect one and two to play through so hopefully that will take me a few weeks.

I like your idea zerotubo. Though I would prefer a refund or be able to trade it in for something in the EA store. or hey even better a free pre-order of Mass Effect 3.

Its a shame this issue has not been addressed yet, suppose with the other issues they just have not got to it yet. Its a little poor to release a product that does not even work for many, and offer no compensation though.

I defo dont want to crack it though, id rather just wait for a patch (so long as thats not to far away).

What happens when you try to play the game? Does it loop back to the launcher? The launcher dissapears and the game does not start? Or do you get an error messege?

The launcher disappears and the game fails to start. No error message is given.

It's depressing cuz I was REALLY excited for this game. I pre-ordered it and I unlocked everu item doing every single stupid and menial task the dev team asked me to do in order to promote themselves, and I still can't play it.

That one was aimed at that guy since he already posted his hardware specs. What are yours? Problems need to be dealt with on a case by case basis and "i have the same problem" doesn't help since everyones setup and software is different so too many variables to bunch cases together.

Right I tried the DirectX June 2010 Update you linked. However I did not seem to help.

Right so we can eliminate graphics drivers, DirectX latest version. Just one more

http://www.microsoft...displaylang=en  try making sure your .net Framework is updated with this

On a side note did you check your firewall is allowing Dragon Age 2?

Your CPU is actually most likely going to hold you back. Those things stopped  being produced years ago.

Yea I tried playing Dragon Age 2 with my AVG shutdown and also went into the config - repair - create firewall exception. I also tried updating my .net Framework and still cannot play the game.

@Zeroturbo your cpu is way out dated my friend and thats what allot of your problem is. as they've not produced them in a long time.

@Phycopath what hardware are you trying to run the game on? It usually helps if you let us know these things.

I assumed it was not needed as I defo pass the min requirements, perhaps I should have mentioned it haha. Anyway the specs are as follows

Windows 7
Ati Radeon Mobility 4650 HD
4 Gb of Ram
320GB Hardrive - 7200 RPM
Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 - 2.53 Ghz

I am playing on a laptop if that makes a difference.

Here is an application error log I found. When I press play, it crashes immediately to desktop. It has completed date check (I think) and it has completed inital config. I have never gotten to the EA registration screen or the click any key screen...

Most laptops have aren't very good at playing games from what I've heard asa the graphics cards for which they put in them are the bare minimum.

I checked out my graphics card before the purchase. It is pretty much the same as the Desktop version. Contacted the manufacturers to ensure they where putting in the full version rather than the alternative which was a skimmed down version using a lower GDDR standard and what not.

My graphics card has a windows score of 6.7 o both desktop performance and gaming. Just for comparisons sake.

Hey guys, so we've got a fix in place for the following issues and we're just looking for a few people to test it just to make sure it does in fact address the following:

• 52959 – Admins getting “This application is unable to run on a Windows guest account or an account with insufficient privileges”
• 53292 – Game launch fails with “We are sorry an error has occurred. There is a problem with your games setup. Please reinstall the game”
• 52973 – Can’t launch game; awc.dll load failed

If one of these is happening to you and you'd like to help, just send me a PM with which error you're having. Thanks.

To those claiming that the problem is my CPU, it's not and you don't know what you're talking about, Go learn about computers and develop some good games so that you won't post stupid stuff like that in the forums.
