:o DA2 could play on regardless of my choice to quit the game, this thing is truly a creation of fiendish power, who can stand against the power of the 'Awesome', all choices become invalid before it.  So enough, DA2 will be making all your choices for you, be afraid, be very afraid :?

Now you're getting it. Don't mess with us. We don't like it if you mess with us. :alien:

Did you really think light-sabers, human lasers, and macguffins come from nowhere? HA!

Pfft, I know not this thing you call 'thinking', DA2 decides all...

DA3 will be so "streamlined" that it will play itself without human intervention.

Casual gamers rejoice!

What BioWare did here is very odd. Because for the first time...outside of Sonic Chronicles...they dropped the ball. I didn't like ME2 as much as Mass Effect, but I still really liked it and found it to be an appropriate middle chapter, although the Collectors needed to be in it more. Here, with DA2, they tried to craft a savvy story, in past tense through narration, about political strife and effect on the individual spirit. It just wasn't crisp, at all, and combined with bland writing and boring...even hatable...characters, flawed gameplay and copied scenery...it was a fail. It was disturbing seeing the lack of inspiration into this game.

Unfortunately, I agree with this post.   The number 1 problem with DA2 is it tells a story no one wants to hear, about characters no one likes.

We get it, everyone is out to get the mages, but that doesn't mean the mages are all innocent perfect types.

Still, if you make every character as deplorable as lying politicians, that doesn't make for a very fun game.

There is at least one reason for Hawke staying in Kirkwall - if you just give in and realise that the game is telling the story of Hawke, the slaughtering, pot-stirring bastard! If you listen to your companions, you'll hear them frequently comment on your prowess at killing everything.

Basically, the canonical Hawke just enjoyed killing people. It doesn't really matter whethers s/he chooses the side of the Mages or the Templars (since they're both equally stupid and contemptible), either way = more murdering!

It is!

They try to leave the black and white of Lord of the Rings and enter into the red Natural Born killers. The good side is make things more authentic. the bad is, more authentic the things are, less epic. You know, epic stories need epic heroes, villains with questionable motivations. Do you guys stopped to think about the motivations of the archdemon in DAO? Kill everyone and then what?

This text is obvious biased. Be epic is not inferior to be cynical. It's a matter of taste.
