Would be nice to know that there was a group a Protheans that survived and evolved into something we see running around the galaxy. It would put to light that maybe the Reapers if they did succeed really just make sure to destroy the technology invented off the Mass Relays and stuff.

Vigil explained, that EVERY Prothean planet, even smallest colony was wiped out or remnants starved to death.....the last survivors of Prothean race consisted (if I remember correctly) of only 12 scientist Protheans who used the Conduit to get to the Citadel...and they starved too....so it's too bad, but they are gone for good.....even Collectors are beyond saving and cannot be turned back into sentient protheans.

It still would be a very nice thing to find a lost drifting emergency capsule in space, that contains few Protheans remaining in stasis or something....telling them (since Shepard understands Prothean after encountering Prothean beacons), that their race is sooo long gone would be a real shocker for them for sure. Being able to see them in flesh would be a nice suprise on BioWare part for us.

See, THIS is the type of interesting, in-depth information I expect to see in one of your "Making of" documentaries that comes on a Collectors Edition bonus disc, BioWare. So please... more of this type of thing for your ME3 bonus disc material and less of something that is mostly a long commercial and patting yourselves on the back for a game I already own.

If a deal can be arranged with Game Informer, I'm expecting these things to show up on a 'Road To Earth' documentary or something with the special edition release for ME3. I really am.

Loved these videos. I'm a sucker for concept art and getting a chance to see the roads not taken. Probably my favorite bit was Mordin as a salarian Clint Eastwood.

Hopefully they have some more great stuff lined up for the rest of the week.

Interesting stuff about the design of thr Asari - it seems the Bioware artists were following a parallel development to the artists who worked on Avatar.

Really cool videos. Keep em' coming.... :D

Awesome stuff! But I would rather see them spend their resources on Female Turians/Salarians than new races.

All of this information is really cool. I hope some fo ti makes it onto a Making-of documentary as aprt of the Collector's edition. I think my favourite pieces of information are the fact that Mordin is inspired by/based on Clint Eastwood. Also the fact we will be seeing new alien designs in ME3, though I really hope that includes female Salarians and Turians as well as potential new races like the Raloi.

These are some great videos, I wouldn't have thought that Krogan design was inspired by a mix of insects and bats.

Also I can't be the only one who digs the ME1 music in these videos.

I'm really enjoying these daily updates. I'm curious if they'll end update month with something big like a trailer.

Pretty fun to watch and informative videos. I always wondered where was the Krogan design from.
That said though I'm pretty sad that they didn't say a word about the female versions of Salarian and Krogan. Makes me wonder if they're going to show them in ME 3 either.

I love these type of videos, I hope to be able to download them when I get home. Very unique and helpful if I ever want to write an alien story!

On a slightly off-topic note, has anyone watched the "Making of" DVD that comes with the ME2 collector's edition? Is it anything as interesting as these videos? Still haven't gotten around to watching it lol

That depends on what you consider to be 'interesting'. They're not as in-depth as those videos were, but they cover broad aspects of making the game plus some input from the voice actors (might I add that hearing Garrus' voice without the metallic inflection and coming from a human is very weird :P )

I've been thinking that myself. GI will hopefully finish it on a high note.

The majority of content on the DVD is promotional material they released earlier. They talk about the game in the future tense and about how it will be a dark second act that will be emotionally engaging.

There are some new clips like interviews with Mark Meer, Jennifer Hale and Brandon Keener, but those are extremely brief. Keener only says one sentence on the DVD.

Ah, oh well. I didn't follow ME2's development too closely(I rarely do with games), so much of it will probably still be new to me. But I guess I'm in no hurry.

I also hope Game Informer keep this ME3 page online. Since these videos seem to mostly deal with the series as a whole, they'll stay relevant in the future.

Well, there's a new video up on GI. It's an interview with Casey Hudson about how ME began, and it's very interesting (apparently there'll be another update tomorrow which I'm looking forward to).

I found another link about Garrus's design, he looks wicked in Mass Effect 3.

Wow, those were all really interesting videos.

And who'd of thought the race of turtle-duck-dinosaurs were based on bats.

I know there have been some things that have been designed and built that have not been in Mass Effect 1 and 2.

Am I the only one that thought maybe he was talking about the much requested females as opposed to (or in addition to) entirely new species?

That's what I was thinking too.
And honestly I'd much rather see the species' females as opposed to more new alien species.
