I found my old copy of BG 1, but the discs were bad. I didn' feel like buying a new copy, so I found a torrent of the game and downloaded that. I installed the game using a virtual drive, and it seemed to install fine. But when I click on PLAY or anything else on the main menu, the button stays depressed, and it freezes. It never moves on from there, and I have to end the Baldur.exe process to make it go away. This happens every time.

I've tried running it in compatibility for XPSP3, and that doesn't work either. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it in safe mode, and I get the same problem.

It might be something with installing it. When I install it, I get three options: Custom Install, Minimum Install, and Recommended Install. Isn't there supposed to be a Full Install option? Also, when I install it, it says "There is not enough space on the destination drive for install. Do you wish to install anyway?" I click yes, and it installs.

I don't know what the problem could be. For the record, if I try to use the autorun.exe, it freezes when I press the buttons on that as well, so I run it manually from setup.exe.

My system specs:
Studio XPS 8100
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel® Comre i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz

If you need any more info just ask. I appreciate any help.

Sorry to say, but admitting that you downloaded a torrent, even if you already own the game, is usually grounds for banning from the site considering this is a game company forum. Instead, I'll give you a warning and lock up the thread.
