its not pressurized for space, her blood would boil or something gruesome of that effect.

If you just put on a helmet, I'd imagine that the suit will pressurize itself.

I've seen people in Mass Effect wear less and still manage to survive.

Mordin:  I can squint and pretend he's wearing armor under his lab coat.  At least he wears a full helmet.

You've got this backwards: he's clearly wearing armor, but he does not have a full helmet. Parts of his head are still exposed.

Weak, using a different language to say what your to afraid to say in a language anyone can understand. Most likely the result of a translator. Never heard of Galacian before.

Galacian? Where did you get *that* from??? It's Latin - 'There is no disputing about tastes' and crimsontearz was pretty clear what he meant in any case.

Hmm, took a closer look and you're right.  I thought he had a full helm that was just transparant, but it's little more than a salarian-sized breather.

Sorry Mordin, you're off the team

It's stupid, it sucks, I hate it.
The pandering to the LCD is really getting desperate now.

god I feel like the roman soldiers in the Asterix cartoons LOL

Ahem...anyways

I am still wondering why such outfits were not given to begin with. I would have gladly sacrificed a lot of fluff content for them if the problem was disc space

The sad thing is that a lot of current outfits would only need a few tweaks to make them look like legit hazardous combat outfits.

Grunt: Cover up his middle arm area with armor.
Samara: Get rid of the heels and V neck. Give her a Justicar styled helmet.
Mordin: Full helmet
Miranda AAP2: Full Helmet
Zaeed: Back of the head and arms covered up in armor.
Kasumi: Zaeed like face mask.

The Mass Effect series is supposed to feel like an 80s scifi movie. These movies were not known for accurate depictions of space. Just rule of cool and bad ass explosions. ME2 went to far in that direction. If they haven't done so in ME3 I hope dlc will fix that.

We are going to fight reapers naked in ME 3, Bioware have finally decided that armor is highly overrated.

In that case...

Shepard:  Jack you are a true visionary.  Fighting naked has made me more powerful then ever!

Jack: F*** Shepard you thought I was stupid for being topless in combat?  No Armor actually kills you.  Without it I can take you all!

Hah,  nothing can stop you once your naked, your enemies just stand and watch in surprise and you get enough time to shoot them down, being naked the new way of warfare.

BTW, we need a fighting naked support thread or someting.

ME1 was a nod to 80ies sci fi
ME2 was a nod to early 90ies
hopefully ME3 catched up with the 2000s and we do not havr to deal with vacuum seal nipple belts

Comparing armor from ME1 to ME2, I think I like the combat suit worn by Jacob better then light armor from ME1. Just add helmet instead of breather mask.

This is just one of those things I shrug about and ignore for the rest of the play through. As I have said before, I just wish it wasn't quite so one sided. If your going to provide eye candy it should be provided for everyone.

But I love how people who were in no way involved in the developmental process act like they have some inside information about certain directions and decisions taken in the design of the game

Because it's not like the devs haven't given interviews and suchlike where they outright stated the squad outfits were done for aesthetic reasons.  Plus, you know, the game doesn't even attempt to handwave them at all, and all the lore in the Codex is unchanged.

Ah, so there are interviews with devs that state the purpose behind certain decisions was "tasteless fan service," as the post I responded to suggested?
