Infis rock. If you have probs with crowd control, re-spec to squad cryo, and let your squadmates do your work for you.

Termokanden...what do you mean Collector Ship was easier than SM??!!! :-)....As I fearfully predicted, yes, the SM was a slow, painful limp for me...I seem to have a thing about doing things in three's...Each section of the SM's I died three times before success...I was really wondering if I could do it, kept walking off, taking a breather, having a think...how do I do this, then coming back and trying again...my frustrated patience finally paid off :-D.

Yeah sorry about that. People have different experiences regarding difficulty because they play the game in different ways. For me the SM wasn't the hardest part of the game.

But now that you've gone through the game on insanity, things are going to seem a lot easier on the next run :)

Congrats!  Now that you know what to expect and have completed Insanity, try a Vanguard run.  High risk, high reward, all adrenaline playstyle when attempting it for the first time.  Nothing is more fun (IMHO)

Yep, I ended up re-specing my Shep and one of the changes was to squad cryo and noticed the difference.

BTW, OP, I found the usefulness of bonus powers to be highly situational. For example, on the DCS and SM (Insanity), I found Stasis to be unbelievably useful simply because you can stasis one target off the platform as it's approaching, thus permanently taking a collector/scion/assassin out of the picture. Once I found out about that little trick, you'd better believe I abused the crap out of it.

Next run??....:crying:....Termokanden, thats just blasphemy!...:o....:pinched:....

Though on a serios note, I have learnt a lot about the game now....Insanity was certainly getting easier and easier on a whole, as I made my way through the missions, learning what works and what doesn't for me...I would find another run a lot easier....A few hours after my Insanity success, I tackled LotSB on Insanity and was pretty much a fun cakewalk for me...that one I found was all about where you put your squad and yourself, once that was nailed,it was a walk through.....So having breezed through that, it will probably eventuate into another Insanity run....I'm doing a major cheat now, I have 'Brawler' and 'Tactition' Achievements to go...as a ranged combatant, I know 'Brawler' will be tough for me, so am dropping the difficulty level to achieve that one.

Yep, I have discovered the beauty of Stasis now...it was suggested I use it on the Scions on Horizon...tried it there, liked it, but then tried Reave, after a few missions on Reave, I went back to Stasis and it's my new best friend :)....And oh yeh, do I hear you, I abused the cr*p out of it too...B) and am sticking with it.

Yea Gods No!!.......:crying:...I chose the Infiltrator because I like to hide and snipe...ranged works just the way I like it :D....I have watched some Vanguard videos and developed a hernia just watching....

Thank you for the Congrats....never thought I would do an Insanity run....was a very casual gamer until I met the ME series, I became addicted :).

I did LotSB last night on my infiltrator. Had to give up sniping outside in that, the screen shakes just enough to make it incredibly annoying. Also had a bug where my abilities would not cool down at all during the Vasir fight. I was not amused, but she still died though.

The SB himself really is something of a joke, particularly if you're an infiltrator. There's no way this guy can even threaten you when you can always Cloak and find cover.

Combat Drone is also brutal against the SB. Makes him turn his back to you, letting you shoot him for free.

Too bad infiltrators don't get something like that. =\\

Nonsense. Cloak makes him trivial. Use SMGs against his shields and your sniper rifle against his armor. Due to Cloak, it is never too late to find new cover. The power really shows its strength here as he can never actually kill you!

When he gets a shield, there are two ways of dealing with it. Either hit him with Warp or Incinerate to stagger him, then shoot, or position yourself away from Liara and activate Cloak (this makes him turn his back to you and so you can go nuts).

If you follow these basic tips, I doubt you'll find him difficult at all.

I tried methods other than sniping, but pretty quickly returned to sniping, couldn't pass up the free damage from the Lighting Conduits myself..loved it...and was my job to snipe the rocket launchers....I have played a number of games, with my own rule of head shots only or reload and try again if I missed any, worked hard on refining that art, has paid off for me I guess.

The Vasir bug....I would not be happy and pretty sure I wouldn't survive her.

Yeah you're right about the rocket drones if that's what you mean. Sniping is good against those. Otherwise SMGs seemed easier overall in the outside of the ship though.

I was disappointed with the SB on Insanity....was so terribly nervous heading for that room, thought he would be a hard and nasty fight....Yup, SB does play to Infiltrators cloak beautifully....Cloak, run behind him, get a few shots in (used Widow), he turns around....head shots.......he gets too close, cloak and reposition behind him, rinse and reapeat...It didn't take long to bring down his defenses, I took no damage and the fight was quite short....was fun though.

The rocket drones, I used a combination of sniping and powers, such as Stasis, Over load (had Miri with me), etc...
The Rocket Launchers, I mean the mooks using them, I found them to be the greatest threat to my squad mates, so ended up looking for them and taking them down fast, thankfully they were one shot- insta kills.

I am disappointed with all bosses on insanity.  They are just HP bags.  Sure there might be a small gimmick about them, like with the shadowbrokker needing to be punched, but really it is just a big bag of HP.  Vasir is maybe the only one that at least felt dynamic, so it was a cool boss fight.  Now the end fights are sometimes really cool.  Like Tali's recruitment mission the last fight was sweet.  The boss part of it though was fairly lame.  Jack's recruitment, the end fight was cool until you drop all the shields and face the boss.  Not that I see much that can be done with it, but it is still dissapointing.

It could be so much worse.  DA2 has more than its share of "HP bags."  In ME2, there aren't any battles that take an inordinate amount of time, even on Insanity.  There are a few rooms that stretch out too long between checkpoints (Jack's recruitment mission has an infamous one featuring the 2nd YMIR), though.

Still, I hope we get some more dynamic boss fights.  The Vasir fight, as you mentioned, was certainly engaging even with her huge HP pool.

Vasir had me VERY nervous as I headed towards her fight, from past experience with her...:crying:....but had chosen Stasis as my BP and Miri as my second squaddie and was really surprised at how do-able it was, I was really expecting a lot worse.

I love both Tali's RM and LM, especially the RM...the RM to me was all about the journey, the whole thing was a whole lot of fun from beginning to end, am always disappointed when that battle ends, I want more of it.

I don't mind the lack of punching bags so much. They're a lot less worrying than a few mooks with really good positioning and extremely aggressive AI.
